I got a cut on my finger that required stitches, so I went to WSUC and arrived at 8:34 PM. They didn't look at my wound. They didn't even tell the doctor. Instead they just said that they stop accepting patients at 8:30 (but their door and website both say 9:00. If a fast food chain says the inside closes at 11, that means they stop taking inside orders at 11, not 10:30). When they turned me down I said "You know you're the only place I can go to in Taft, right?" And they said "Yeah, we know."
I ended up having to go all the way to Bakersfield to get stitches, and I was there for roughly seven hours. Urgent Care could've been able to fix me in half an hour, especially considering that I was the only one there.
What really grinds my gears is that my tax dollars, and yours, pays for that facility. They don't seem to care though. What would happen if I needed serious medical attention and didn't have the time to go to Bakersfield? Would they just let someone who's taxes go to pay them die?
