H&R Block

H&R BLOCK MAIN OFFICE IN EL CAJON - I have used H&R Block for about 25 years and now realize I was paying to much for there services and understand that they are not the most knowledgeable staff for preparing my taxes. I recently went to H&R Block in La Mesa (San Diego Headquarters) and sat for 2 hours to prepare my taxes for myself and my business. I was assigned a person different from the manager I had last year. After 2 hours this guy erases my tax information we had been entering in for the last 2 hours and refused to complete my taxes. He also stated that he was not familiar with a self directed IRA. This guy went over the limit when he explained that the only reason last years manager prepared my taxes was because he must have figured he wouldn't be around mush longer. This guy explained taht the manager was no longer working because he was terminally ill with cancer and would not be around much longer. WOW! My father and mother (brain cancer) had died of cancer (pancreatic) and this guy rakes a person under the coals. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I called H&R Block's main number for the USA branches and they did nothing. I have since gone to a professional CPA and tax advisor and am now paying about 50% of the cost H&R Block charged me and have someone knowledgeable preparing my personal and business taxes. IT IS HIGHLY SUGGESTED NOT TO USE THESE GUYS AND GO TO A CPA THAT CAN PROVIDE YOU MORE TAX EXPERIENCE. I did not use names out of respect of the previous manager.
