Most women find that their breasts swell to a fuller size and shape while they are pregnant. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
The carpal tunnel is a narrow passageway of ligament and bones at the base of the hand that comprises the median nerve and tendons. Possibly caused by repetitive forced movements of the hand and wrist, carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when the median nerve and the nine tendons that run along the carpal tunnel become inflamed. A corrective hand surgery can release the pressure on this nerve which allows for better blood supply and improved movement. Your surgeon may make an incision from the middle of your palm to your wrist. Some surgeons may opt for an alternate procedure known as endoscopic carpal tunnel release. During this minimally invasive hand surgery, he or she accesses the median nerve by inserting a tiny flexible tube with a light and lens (endoscope) through small incisions.

Dr. Dehghan will assess the pattern and distribution of your symptoms, and examine for muscle weakness, irritability of the nerve to tapping and/or bending of the elbow, and changes in sensation. Other medical conditions may need to be evaluated such as thyroid disease or diabetes. A test called electromyography (EMG) and/or nerve conduction study (NCS) may be done to confirm the diagnosis of cubital tunnel syndrome and stage its severity. This test also checks for other possible nerve problems, such as a pinched nerve in the neck, which may cause similar symptoms.

For some areas that are more difficult to treat, such as the back, flanks, male breasts, and others, we sometimes utilize an Ultrasound-Assisted technique (UAL) which helps break down and emulsify the fat tissue, helping to achieve better results.
Mammography
The final results of breast reconstruction following mastectomy can help lessen the physical and emotional impact of mastectomy. Over time, some breast sensation may return, and scar lines will improve, although they’ll never disappear completely. There are trade-offs, but most women feel these are small compared to the large improvement in their quality of life and the ability to look and feel whole. Careful monitoring of breast health through self-exam, mammography and other diagnostic techniques is essential to your long-term health.

Ganglion cysts are benign lumps that are often found around the wrist and hand. These cysts can be removed surgically, drained or treated with steroid injections to bring down the inflammation and reduce pain.

Trigger finger occurs when one of your fingers or your thumb catches and becomes stuck in a bent, lock and loaded-type position. It is caused by a widening of the sheath that surrounds the tendon in the trigger finger. This is usually the result of inflammation. In a healthy finger, the sheath keeps the synovial fluid around the tendon; lubricating it as it glides back and forth. The beginning of this sheath is called the A1 pulley. Surgery is often a last resort for trigger finger treatment, and reserved for cases that do not respond to rest, finger exercises, massage and/or medications. During trigger finger hand surgery, a small incision is made in the palm to release the pulley system and allow the finger to glide again. Reconstructive Surgery
RA is an autoimmune disease that occurs when the body engages in friendly fire against its own joints – including the finger joints. If finger involvement is severe, reconstructive surgery may be needed. There are many types of surgery that can help treat the problems associated with hand RA. Sometimes, carpal tunnel surgery can help because many people with RA also have carpal tunnel syndrome. Tendon release or tendon repair can treat abnormal bending of fingers, or repair or reattach tendons, respectively. Surgeons can also remove inflamed tissue (synovium) in the hand. This can decrease inflammation and pain, and can be done in tandem with other RA-related hand surgeries.

Dysport is an FDA-approved injection treatment used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing facial muscles in the forehead. Similar to BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport is injected directly into the site of wrinkles to prevent the underlying muscles from contracting. Breast Lift
The aftermath of pregnancy can leave you with sagging breasts, uneven breasts, lost breast volume, drooping nipples and stretched areolas (the dark skin surrounding the nipple). The Obagi Blue Peel procedure takes less than an hour in our office and does not typically require sedation. The Blue Peel will typically be applied to your face and neck based on your level of damage and your desired level of Transformation. A mild burning sensation will occur that generally lasts only a few minutes. Then you may experience a bluish tint to your skin that usually washes off in 12 to 24 hours. Otoplasty and ear reconstruction procedures are used to restore the normal appearance to the external ear. The need for such procedures can be caused by a wide range of situations ranging from birth defects, wearing of large jewelry over time or some type of trauma. If the need for otoplasty or ear reconstruction is caused by a birth defect or accident it may be covered under insurance. However if the ear abnormality was caused by an external force such as the wearing of large jewelry or ear gauges it will be considered an elective cosmetic procedure. Otoplasty can take many forms, such as bringing the ears closer to the head (often called ear pinning), reducing the size of very big ears, or reshaping various bends in the cartilage. Other reconstructive procedures deal with the deformed, or absent (microtic) ears. Otoplasty surgery can involve a combination of moving, reshaping, adding, or removing structural ear elements.

Chin Augmentation
Chin augmentation is a common procedure performed to improve the balance of your facial profile and correct a “weak” chin or receding chin due to congenital deficiency, age-related bone resorption or facial trauma. A weak chin can make the nose seem larger or make the neck appear fatty and undefined. Chin augmentation with an implant is the procedure of choice for most patients with normally functioning teeth and jaw development. A chin implant gives more projection of the chin and a better shape. Some surgeons do this operation from under the chin which results in an external scar. Dr. Dehghan performs chin augmentation through an incision on the inside of the mouth with no external scar.
Forehead Lift
When performing a forehead lift procedure, muscles and tissue areas that droop or cause creases are removed or corrected to smooth the skin on the forehead to reduce frown lines and raise the eyebrows. There are two surgical methods, and during your initial consultation the procedure that works best for you will be recommended. The first is the most conventional method where a surgical incision is hidden just above the hairline. Brow lifts are also performed using an endoscope which enables the procedure to be performed with a minimal number of incisions. While the traditional method can sometimes attain more lift, both methods create smoother, flatter skin on the forehead.

Alphahydroxy acids (AHAs), such as glycolic, lactic, or fruit acids are the mildest of the peel formulas and produce light peels. These types of peels can provide smoother, brighter-looking skin for people who can’t spare the time to recover from a phenol or TCA peel. AHA peels may be used to treat fine wrinkling, areas of dryness, uneven pigmentation and acne. Various concentrations of an AHA may be applied weekly or at longer intervals to obtain the best result. An alphahydroxy acid, such as glycolic acid, can also be mixed with a facial wash or cream in lesser concentrations as part of a daily skin-care regimen to improve the skin’s texture.
