Went there on a Saturday night-not good. The salad looked and tasted like yesterdays left over. The waitress was slow. The chicken parm was burnt on the bottom. The italian bread was cold. I prefer warm if not room temperature italian bread with my meal. It took 20 minutes for our salad and first round of drinks. We had to flag the waitress down for refills.

I recently had a business meeting at Dominicks and it was a very functional environment, Now the food on the other hand was like taling a trip to gammys place when she was in Solvay on Morgan Ave. well prepared with a tasty sauce and fresh bread..that was enough four me. Closed the deal and my bclient picked up the tab..I love it when a plan works out..
Dominicks is a Syracuse Institution - large portions of Italian Food at decent prices. The food is good, but nothing to write home about. You'll enjoy it if you're not looking for exploratory and adventurous cuisine. Great desserts, though - a wide variety of pastries and pies baked in house.

The service is friendly, but the food is just plain nasty. It really is as if you are paying someone to heat up a Swanson's for you. Not even in the oven, I mean microwaved Hungry Man meals. I have no idea how this restaurant keeps winning awards from local newspapers.

We visited Dominicks on a Monday for the prime rib special. Our experience was not good. The prime ribs were ordered medium rare and came out well done with a mushy texture, like a tenderizer was used on them. One baked potato had a chemical taste to it and was returned. The other potato was overcooked. The house salads were swimming in dressing. This place is known for having large portions, but quantity does not mean quality. I would not go back.
I make Dominick's a stop whenever I am in the city shopping. They have great lunch specials weekdays and the best meatball-parm sub with cherry peppers anywhere! Every Monday is Prime Rib lunch, $8 for lunch size, $12 for the queen size w/2 sides. Best prime rib in town!!! .Great service too! Awesome MILE-HIGH pies! Their house Italian salad is superb, served with Italian bread and butter. I LOVE their baked Ziti casserole loaded with goey mozzeralla, meatball & sausage combo. You can barely eat it all! Since the complete remodeling years ago, its a truly must-go dining/and/or bar trip!
