        Not at all what it's cracked up to be!!!

        I read all of your wonderful reviews of this salon & had always wanted to try a high end quality NY style salon, so I stopped by. They were able to fit me in as a "walk in", which was nice. 1st I was with the colorist, who I specified many, many times I wanted copper orangish highlights glazed into my hair. He did not have color swatches, which I thought was very strange. Instead, he googled pictures on his cell phone, which I could barely see. Nonetheless, I did show him what I wanted. He quoted me a price of $225. My biggest pet peeve is a hair stylist that does not listen to you! The final result was carmel highlights. Not a tinge of orange in them at all! Then came the haircut/TRIM. The stylist did listen to me & gave me a very, very little TRIM, which cost me $100!!!!! When I got the bill, it was $350, not $325. If I would have known that the TRIM I got would cost me $100, I would have never got it done there. The $250 I paid for the wrong highlights, was bad enough. I would not reccomend this salon to anyone. It is WAY overpriced, and they don't listen to what you want.

        Zoku Salon is a very nice place. I live in the area so decided to try it out for my color and i saw Allison. She was very attentive and nice, and my color was great! I would definately reccomend her! Her assisant was super nice as well! The only thing I did not like about the salon was that one of the owners seemed very rude. She pulled my colorists assistant away from me and had her help her instead... it felt like I wasnt deserving enough, then i didnt get the 100% attention i was paying for because Allison had to juggle everything without an assistant. It seems like you only get the best treatment when you see one of the owners. Luckily Allison was nice enough to keep me at ease.

        NY salon meets the burbs.Zoe a very talented hair colorist with years of experience in a SOHO salon has opened her own salon in Summit,NJ. Zoe's partner Christine is the hair stylist.The salon is classy, elegant with a splash of funk.If Zoe is booked/full make your hair coloring appointment with Isaac...you won't be disappointed.
