I have a Suzuki Grand Vitara. A month or so ago I took it to the Dealer for an oil change. I explained to them that there was something wrong with the transmission, they looked at it and said that there was nothing wrong with the transmission. Two days ago, while driving home my car’s cabin starts filling up with smoke. It was so bad, that the cars behind me slowed down and kept a distance. I had to stop on I-26 and wait for the smoke to dissipate. I called Holt Transmission at 5:30 PM and left a message (after hours). I received a call within 5 minutes. I was highly impressed. We decided to drop off the car the morning after. I dropped of my car at 8 AM and Darryl had me out the door by 8:10; he knew I had to go to work. Darryl and his Summerville team analyzed and were ABLE TO PINPOINT THE PROBLEM THAT THE MAKER’S DEALERSHIP WAS NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSE. To top it off, Darryl took on the warranty company to have it covered. ABOVE AND BEYOND!!!! Darryl, if you read this; you ROCK!!! Mr. Holt, Darryl is an asset to your company; because of his dedication to his craft and the amazing customer satisfaction I received from your company, I am taking the time to write this well-deserved review. So, my gear shift stopped shifting. A little bit of research on the internet made me think it might be the shifter cable. Since it wouldn't come out of drive, I couldn't start it. I called Holt transmission at 7 am expecting to get voicemail so I could let them know that the trow would be dropping the car off. Instead, John answered and told me to bring it on in. When I got there, there were 19 cars already being worked on. This is the source of my only complaint: Too many other people love the service at Holt Transmission in Summerville, so I had to wait my turn. John and his team did a great job. It actually works better than it did when I bought the car. The time they took to repair it was phenominally fast, and the guys were extremely nice...they were kind enough not to point out that the majority of the cost was because I damaged the shifter trying to make it work instead of just calling them when the problem started. Well done, John!
Our experience with Jim at Champions Transmissions and Auto was excellent! He explained everything he felt that needed to get fixed and took the time to show you what was going on wrong with the vehicle. When you walk away and leave your car with them at the shop you don't get this feeling that you're going to be taken advantage of. He called ahead of time to give estimates - which were very reasonable and cheaper than every place I checked before hand - and gave me the option to do one thing or the other. Once everything was done I was extremely pleased with the final cost and the vehicle is running like new! I will most definitely be taking any other vehicle to him for repairs and also telling my friends about him. Give Jim a call and give him a try... Thanks Jim!
Driving from Pennsylvania to Summerville, South Carolina for a family Christmas, my wife and I were faced with an unanticipated car problem – a blown muffler and resonator. Fortunately, our nephew recommended that we take our car to Holt Transmission. We did, and how lucky for us. Jeff Holt’s team – William Spinks, the Manager, and his staff were so accommodating. We left our car, they did a tremendous job, and got us back on the road. So after a wonderful, warm, sunny and lovely Christmas in Summerville, we headed back to Pennsylvania confident that our car was in tip top shape. We cannot thank Jeff and his employees enough for their help. We recommend Holt Transmission highly.
Holt did a wonderful job with our warranty claim. I would highly recommend them to anyone. We had our transmission pretty much rebuilt and Jeff did everything he could to make the process go as smoothly as possible. Overall, I left feeling like they really do care about the quality of their work and their customers.

Had a shifting problem in my old Ford pickup. Johnny sold me a $15 bottle of conditioner and recommended synthetic oil. I did it myself, and it had been trouble-free for 10 years!
They go way beyond what they need to for people. They are somr of the nicest people I have come across in any business. They have my business for life.
