(2015) Awful. Manager Frankie spun a story about "three levels of repair" (adequate, really good, or like new) on my clutch -- charged naive me over $800. Even charged me more than that when i went to pay -- but by then i just wanted my vehicle and to never see him again. Kept calling me *before it was ready*, wanting me to pay over phone and then come pick it up later, after they were closed (just leave keys in my unlocked car). Told me bleeding the lines was just a courtesy, pay now on phone, it really is "ready" -- pick up now? "Oh, no, um later, but pay now over phone" ...etc. Weird and shady. Insisted i drive over to "see something" -- just to try to get me to pay before work finished. Me: "Is it ready?" Vehicle in air, not ready. "Sure, just doing some extra, no charge things" me: i don't want any free work, just what we already agreed, is it ready, work done? "Uh, it will be, by closing time... as long as you're here, you could pay..." At the time, i had no idea i was being grotesquely overcharged, but i did feel like something was very wrong. When i had to have MORE work done (replace slave -- again, whole mess leaking and undrivable) in less than a year, a reputable shop charged a small fraction of this scam. I didn't try to make good on my warranty because i'm too upset and suspicious to ever go to any AAMCO again. Ever.

Aamco, Old Trolley Road, Summerville, SC-Dishonest - excuses - Dealt with Manager Frankie -could not get the complete service we paid for. On 3/21/15 we paid $99 for A/C Service to find out why our 2008 Honda Civic A/C was not cooling. Receipt states: "MUST RE-CHECK for Leaks within 5 days". We dealt with Frankie the entire time. We were to drive the car then come back for the recheck in a week. The next week we were told the machine was broken so the test to see where the leak is couldn't be done. The next week were told "We need to buy a new machine but not yet because it's not hot so the owner doesn't want to spend $5,000 yet. New machine will cost between $2,000 to $5,000, Subsequent excuses have included: The guy was supposed to come talk to us about a used one, guy was supposed to come drop off one for us to use for a couple weeks, I was on vacay last week, I'll refer you to a guy who won't rip you off, well usually that pound of freon will last you all summer. Today, I was told "I don't know anybody to refer you to that won't rip you off. Well, for people who have been in the business for many years, #1, that's WAY to many excuses #2 you don't know anyone who WON'T RIP ME OFF? #3, what about MUST RE-CHECK FOR LEAKS WITHIN 5 DAYS...So, we can't complete the service we paid for, dealt with a long time local business who apparently has no local contacts "he can trust". Poor customer service, dishonest in that we were told we would be sent somewhere we could trust, then told there was no one, and we didn't get so much as an apology to boot. You be the judge.
