I used to shop here quite a bit, and over the years I have purchased a good bit of furniture and clothing from here, but recently have been very disappointed. For one thing, the prices are often too high for the quality of the merchandise. The clothing prices can be confusing--the prices are listed by clothing type (i.e. jeans, skirts, dresses, tops) on a whiteboard, with one price for "low end" brands and one price for "high end" brands, with no way for the customer to know what is considered "high end" vs. "low end". The quality of many of the shirts in particular was poor, with the fabric appearing worn and/or marred by pilling. A lot of the shoes were extremely overpriced despite being in not-so-great condition. Purses were priced high as well. They had some nice pieces of furniture, but these were also priced unreasonably high in many cases. Staff is another matter entirely. I might be more inclined to tolerate some of the prices if the customer service was excellent, or even pretty good. Sadly, the customer service is severely lacking. One teenage girl was quite friendly and helpful, but another was shockingly rude and even made a face at us. Over my last 3 visits, the staff have been generally dismissive bordering on rude and not interested in being helpful (aside from the girl I mentioned earlier). In this economy I would expect that the staff would be a bit more friendly and inviting. It truly seemed as though they could care less about having my business, which is why I will be taking it elsewhere in the future.
They were professional, reasonable in cost, eager to adapt to a customer's moving situation. And they were fast and friendly. Would use these good people again.
I used their moving services. They dropped a box of my dishes breaking all of them and every time I've tried to contact Tracey (the owner) to talk with her about this she's never available. I've left 4 messages asking her to call me back and she never has. I would NEVER recommend their services or purchasing anything from them. What pathetic ethics!!
THIS IS THE WORST BUSINESS EVER! DONT WASTE YOUR GAS! You can find better quality items for a lot less anywhere else. Nobody bothers to tell you all sales are final. I wish I had read the other reviews before going here. The owner smiles while taking your money but when you call back with an issue has a major attitude.
I took items 12/5/14. I was shocked that they sold my new wireless "nanny" cam for less than $30, giving me $16.50. We had paid $100+ less than 5 mos before. When I went to pick-up, they had "lost" my 5' wall tapestry! It's October, 2015, and I've never heard a word from these people. I think they have a great scam going on with the public. I've heard similar from other locals!
I have purchased quality clothing, appliances, bedding, and house wares from this store for over 6 years. Never a problem, never a complaint. I am very comfortable and familiar with the layout - I know where everything is. _________________________I love checking out the CD rack next to the checkout - I often find gems for my work stereo.
I purchased many really good items from this store, and most of the staff is excellent. I was able to haggle a few times. My high end, sturdy, oak coffee & end table are in phenomenal shape after several years. I have had NO complaints about the many products, including clothing, which I have purchased. I learned to scrutinize carefully prior to purchasing as an exclusively-resale shopper. I have even had a surprisingly positive experience with a couch I had intended to donate to charity - they took it with my mother's permission while they were delivering something else - I got a check for $150 a few weeks later! I didn't expect it, and hadn't tried to determine its value at all. _________________________________THAT SAID...a few years ago I was using their restroom, which I had been allowed to do in the past. The owner (I'm almost certain) pounded on the door a few times -- very disturbing -- and then gave me the "what for" when I came out. This was after I had explained that the young lady standing at the front desk gave me permission. Apparently the girl was a customer....not sure why she didn't disclose that. The over-reactionary reprimand has sent my business elsewhere. I have worked in retail customer service and office management for years and can't imagine ever talking to a customer in that manner - even a criminal (let the police be the heavies!).The younger staff is awesome, however. Always attentive and friendly, helpful and positive.
My House to Yours has many beautiful pieces from "model homes". That's wonderful, but the prices are jacked up. This is a resale store. Other than that, walking around the store is like walking around a jungle. You pretty much feel like you're going in circles, and get lost. It is so cluttered and out of order I just feel like I can't see every item because I don't know which way to go. Stuff is just everywhere and it is so unorganized.
My daughter (13) shopped here with a friend and her mom. She brought home a pair of average jeans that cost $12.50. After inspection, I noticed the back pockets were missing both snaps and one side had a big hole from where the snap had been. Definitely not a good impression on the first experience there. For $12.50, those jeans should have been in wearable condition. My daughter felt ripped off.
I sent my daughter (13) with another mom and her daughter to search for junior jeans here. Imagine my dismay when she came home and after paying $8.50 for them, I noted the jeans had a near hole (about an inch) on the inner leg. They have a no-returns policy and the jeans have a pretty significant flaw that cannot be covered up. Even if they say "Aeropostle" on the tag, the store failed to inspect the jeans and price accordingly. We are crossing them off the list of good secondhand stores.
