This is because Sulphur Springs Physical Therapy has the advantage of combining a health club facility with an outpatient clinic. This combination creates more rehab options and expands the opportunity for improvement in daily functions on all exercise levels. We promote the greatest health possible through proper, effective and comfortable movement, enhancing the body's ability to heal itself. Sulphur Springs Physical Therapy is a privately owned outpatient Physical Therapy Practice founded by Richard and Tammy Irby in October 2002. The state-of-the-art clinic is located inside of the 15, 000 sq ft family-friendly Sulphur Springs Athletic Club, which is the only facility in the area to house an Olympic-size pool as one of its many amenities. The Irby's purchased SS Athletic Club in 2000 with the dream of someday incorporating a rehab area with an indoor Rehab Pool to meet the diverse demands of the growing community. With hard work, determination, and the best Rehab team, along with the most advanced equipment in the Northeast Texas area, this dream became a reality in October 2002. Richard owns and operates a highly successful Welding Business constructing large metal buildings, primarily riding arenas, and has for almost 30 years. He is also the CEO of Irby Enterprises, overseeing the management operations of SSAC and SSPT along with other personal ventures. He is very involved in the NCHA (National Cutting Horse Association) and enjoys tending to his award winning cutting horses in competition and in pleasure. He enjoys outdoor sports with his two children, Brian who is 14, and Amanda, 12. Both are active in school at SSMS and play area sports. Tammy is the Administrator of Sulphur Springs Physical Therapy. She is a long time resident of Hopkins County and graduated from SSHS. She attended nursing school and became a Registered Nurse in 1984. Her nursing expertise lends to the marketing and start-up of Home Health Agencies and hospital nursing in obstetrics. She is an avid participant of exercise, enjoys shopping, movies and just "chillin' by their pool at home." She has two daughters, Britney and Jandi, who brighten her life. Britney, 22, is married to David Caldwell, and she has recently graduated with her nursing degree pursuing her Registered Nurse career in the area. Jandi is 17 and beginning her senior year at SSHS this fall. Richard and Tammy have been happily married for 7 years. They enjoy traveling to new destinations, as well as quiet time on their ranch just south of town.
