Not a good location, the smell of weed and nearby stores in same center had guys hanging out. Design and charters throughout salon was kid friendly, but the stylists, some with visible attitude appeared tired. The place was packed, no organization, walk ins took preference over customers with appointments so no appointment is needed. The owner pranced around but could offer no solution to wait time. My grandchild had appointment at 3pm and was not seen at 658pm. We walked out! Too long to have children / customers waiting. Clearly $$$ was the goal vs. making sure customers are comfortable and not waiting too long. I think waiting 4 hours with no service is packing patience!
I am new to the area and was recommended to Brat Box. My appt. was at 12:30pm and I was told my stylist was not here and they have not spoken to her and they do not know where she is. I was told to wait an hour or so until a stylist is free. This establishment is unprofessiobal and lacks customer service. I left and went to Wish Upon A Star and they are great! If you want to go to a great childrens salon with excellent customer service and excellent quality work please stay clear of Brat Box and go to Wish Upon A Star!!
My daughter has been going there for a year and now she has dermatitis from that dirty salon. She is on antibiotics, has to have special shampoo and an ointment. They need to was their comes or something.
The worst experience ever my child has been Salon lots of time and she loves her stylist. But this was the second we had an appointment and the stylist did not show. After 3 hours of waiting and thinking another stylist would do my daughters hair come to find the stylist had an appointment and would not be able to do my daughters hair. So now we are leaving and the owner comes and says you still have to pay $20 because we shampooed and blow dried her hair. I pay and now I still have to take my daughter some where to get her hair done and pay again and she tells me you shouldn't have picked that stylist she's not good. Really Lady how unprofessional is that but you employ her.
Left work early to get there by her appointment time (345) only to have her sit for 1 before they ever started. The young lady executed the style nicely but my daughter was literally THE LAST client to leave (930p or so). I doubt I take her back. They don't respect their clients time
My child goes to the bathroom and theres a trashcan full of water with the ceiling leaking water falling on me as I held her across the toilet yes held her because it was so filthy I didnt want her skin to touch any part of that toilet it was so damm dirty no toilet paper on top of that it was cold I ask the lady at the front can she adjust the air she replied Its only on 72 degrees mind you its chilli out today so 72 is really cold considering the temp outside the lounge was closed so we sat on lawn chairs...smh yep everthing about this place screams black owned oh did I mention my appointment was at 11:30 didnt get seen until 2 this is my last time here...smh so damm filthy and full of ghetto stylist that curse like sailors
This has to be the dirtiest salon that I have ever been to.I didn't want my kids touching anything. The owners lack customer service. The prices on line and on the cards don't match the price the charge you once your child's hair is done. But worst of all my daughter developed ring worm on her scalp after getting her hair done there. I am going to take appropriate action on this matter. The need to clean their shop, they need to make sure they clean their combs and other stuff they use in kids hair and they need to clean their mouths out with soap. This place will never change with the owners that they have. I can't stress to you enough. Do not take your child here there are way better places that will treat you and your child like you should be treated. Very unsatisfied and disgusted customer.
Making an appointment is useless as another reviewer stated. They braided my daughter's hair so tight I had to take it out within hours when I realized how her scalp was being pulled. Owner didn't care and the braider only made up excuses (oh and she tried to blame it on me because I chose a style not recommended for 9 year olds and girls with very fine hair, like I should've magically known that beforehand). The owner offered me $10 off my next visit which was very insulting considering I'd just spent $150 in her establishment.
This was our second time here, we made an appt. just to have to sit and wait 30 minutes to an hour for a stylist to come in. What is the point in making a appt at all. We were the first to sign in as well and even children arriving after us were rushed to the back when there stylist arrived! After our first visit, I was willing to overlook the wait because my child's stylist did an excellent job on her hair! But to come back again and to give the shop a fair chance was so disappointing! We will not be coming back here for a 3rd.
live Suitland area close by th salon, and everytime time i go to this salon i have least than a poor experience. I do like the fact that they do have specials often and thats what draws me to the salon (more than excellent). But their nail technicans are money hungry and not quality givers. My last expeirence was horrible and line drawing to NEVER step foot in that salon again. I was charged extra money to get my nails shaped oval and they were croocked, uneven, sloppy, and looks as if an ametuer did them. I also got a pedicure and my toe nails were cut and they all on a slant I asked around to see if it was just me and others agree. The technician that cut and put acrylic on my nails had another person paint my nails (by the way the person who painted my nails was not an employee at the shop). I do light admistrative work a day and a half my pinky nail broke off and my pointer nails on the opposite han has a split in it. (I am beyond livid at this point). In my whole entire life Ihave never experienced such bad quality ( i paid a hefty amount as well). Before I left the shop I let the manager know about the terrible experince he told me to go back to the technican who i fully alerted that i was unhappy with the job he was doing. I feel like a paying unappreciated customer. I do no and will not recommend this salon to anyway. VIP NAILS IS A NIGHTMARE!!!+
