Dr. Schwartz is smart, thorough, honest and -- surprise, surprise (if you've read some of the negative reviews here) -- markedly kind and caring to both pets and their owners.
(And his staff is a blast, by the way!)
He's kept our puppy happy and healthy.
Who could ask for anything more?

We recently had to put to rest our special friend and cat Geronimo. We endured a heartbreaking and costly experience with Dr. Schwartz for nothing gained-not even the assurance that we did everything we could. His total lack of awareness as how to accurately treat our cat for lily ingestion was embarrasing. He was also somewhat condescending and pompous with regard to his lack of attentiveness to our feedback about our cats symptoms- despite our numerous attempts to make him aware. His practices have been questioned by many on the reviews below, now have been questioned by ourselves & our new veterinary doctor & such practices may have possibly lead to our cats death. Please do not take your animal to this vet clinic if you need quality trained veterinary help for your pet.
As a result of experience and loss of friend & pet Geronimo, we are currently seeking reimbursement of monies from Dr. Schwartz & Boulevard Pet Clinic for unnecessary services rendered and inappropriate treatment procedures related to Feline Ingestion of Lilies. We intend to use such monies in a campaign to raise awareness of the hazards of Toxic Lily Ingestion in Cats, and ideally prevent others from losing their pet friends from substandard, poor and inconsiderate Veterinary Clinics/work practices.
If your want to learn more about our experience with Boulevard Pet Clinic as there is not enough 'character space' to include the whole story here, please go to our DOTcom website at:

I can't believe all the negative reviews on this site. Jeez. I guess I've been visiting Blvd. on good days.
Dr. Shwartz has been our vet for over 7 years now. He's looked over all our cats and dogs and has been great w/each and every one of them. When our Frenchie got bit by a rattlesnake, he quickly took care of matters quickly got her back on her feet although it did cost us pretty penny.
We have since moved to Calabasas but I still trek all the way to Studio City because I trust Dr. Shwartz. His staff have always been professional, friendly, and quick to get me an appointment if needed.
I say before you believe all the reviews you read, you should try visiting the clinic yourself.

If you want your hand held and a vet that's going to tell you what a wonderful person you are don't go here. Dr Swartz may be a bit direct, but he is amazing with animals! If you want the best possible care for your pet at reasonable rates this is the place to go. His incredibly friendly staff more than makes up for his direct nature.

Yesterday I had to make the biggest decision of my life, and that was to put my dog to sleep. Everyone at Blvd. Pet Clinic was amazing and supportive. Dr. Shwartz was incredibly calm and caring as he explained the situation to me. He seemed genuinely sad and I could tell he really was concerned.
One of the receptionists came in to the office and brought me kleenex as I cried. They were all very sympathetic and gave me the time I needed to say good bye to my baby and recompose myself before I left.
I had also been there several times with my dog and each time I was treated well and Dr. Schwartz always explained everything thoroughly.
I will continue going there with my other dog.

I still go back after never getting a smile. The office always can get me in. The doctor always helps in an emergency. The fees are super high.. Don't you dare question fees or you will get a serious frown... The long and short of it is... The staff makes up for the very uptight doctor. They are the best. Just expect that you will be treated with zero respect by the doctor and do not take it personally. You animal will be in great hands, but you will get the love from the staff.

Recently, I had taken my Persian cat to a local vet (Plaza Del Amo Animal Hospital) and they had charged me about $700.0 to help my cat illness. Actually 6 months after the visit my cat was still having issues; called the Dr. whom had no clue as to what was wrong with my cat. I could totally tell that she was just lying to me and all she wanted was my $$$. So, instead, i heard about Dr. Schwartz & drove 50 miles in order to have my cat checked. Afterwards, he had given me a solution to my cat's problem (which by the way was a simple solution) and problem solved.
I just wanna let you all know that this Dr. KNOWS WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT and KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING!!!
I strongly recommend Boulevard Pet Clinic to anyone SERIOUS pet owners whom are serious about results....

Dr Dave saved my cat. He, unfortunately, had developed kitty asthma due to being around a smoker outside. Another vet gave him a shot of prednisone that cured the asthma but was killing his liver, shutting down his kidneys and gave him transitory diabetes and a urinary infection on top of it all. We thought he was a goner for sure. Enter Dr Dave. After a 4-day stay, Iddo was all better, and an almost new cat. Dr Dave gave Iddo another five good years, and finally went to the Kitty Angels when he was 15. We now take our new kitties to Dr Dave, and they couldn't be healthier or happier! Highly recommend!

I Love this vet! He is thorough and right on the money. He has had the same staff for years. That says plenty about a business when there is not a constant overturn of employees. They helped me with a very sick American Staffie I rescued from N. Central Shelter. They saved her life and now she is my personal dog and is living an amazing life. So am I as a result of her companionship. I also had another dog from Lancaster shelter. We spent upwards of $1000 to treat her distemper/parvo. When the funds were drained, he took on all of her medical costs to try to save her life. Sadly she did not make it. Dr. Schwartz may not have the greatest bedside manner, but who cares when the bottom line for me is the welfare of my pet. I have referred several pets to him and many have finally gotten the correct diagnosis that other vets could not determine. I also know that some of the negative reviews are from disgruntled rescuers, because Dr. Schwartz is so giving to rescue organizations he often lets them run a tab. When it comes time to pay up... they ditch him and slander him so they don't have to pay. How sad!
Go to Boulevard Pet Clinic and see for yourself. The place is immaculate and the staff is terrific. Also the groomer DeeDee is so committed to her work. She is also another amazing employee at this clinic.

I have been taking my cats and dogs to Blvd. for over 6 years now. The staff has always been caring and wonderful to us and our little family. I have been on soooooooo many boards and everyone seems to complain about veterianary clinics everywhere after they have lost their beloved pets. It is very sad to lose your loved one but it is not right to knock down the vets that cared for your pet during its last days. If it was ultimately time for your pet to go you just have to accept that. I know there are indeed instances where complaints are justified but personally, I have never had any problems w/Dr. Schwartz and I will continue bringing my pets here for years to come.
