We Protect Family Assets

General Info
We pride ourselves in providing the experience and specialized services of a larger law firm with the personalized attention, low overhead and reasonable fees of a family owned business. Sam and Karen met in law school at the University of Florida where they graduated in 1979 when they were both 22 years of age. That same year they were married and began practicing law in the Treasure Coast area where they have continued to live, raise four (4) children and work. From 1979 to 1988, Karen and Sam worked in different law firms and, in 1988, they merged their practices to form the firm of Steger & Steger, P.A. The firm constructed its own office building in 2004 on U.S. 1 in Stuart, Florida and continues to operate at that location. Lori Steger, their eldest daughter, joined the firm in 2006 after graduating from Florida State University Law School where she met her husband, Jacob Ensor, who also is an attorney in this area. The Steger law firm also includes Karen and Lori’s assistants, Lorrie Marion, Leslie Menegay, and Brenda Pociask, as well as Sam’s assistants, Suzanne Parnell and Kacy Delbene. The firm’s bookkeeper is Krystin Ward, the receptionist is Stacy Cable and the courier/mail person was Karen’s father, Jerry O’Brien, until he died in December 2012 and is now Holly Gilbert. Each of our legal assistants have at least five (5) years of experience with our firm and/or another law firm.
Business History
Initially, Karen joined a private law a firm that eventually became known as McManus, Stewart, Ferraro & Steger, P.A. where Karen’s practice included both criminal and family law. By the time that Karen merged her practice with Sams in 1988 as Steger & Steger, P.A., she was concentrating almost exclusively in family law. While studying for the bar, Sam joined the senior partner in the firm known as McRoberts & Steger, P.A. Sam’s initial experience at this firm included representation of Stuart National Bank which became Florida National Bank, First Union National Bank, Wachovia National Bank and Wells Fargo National Bank. Lori worked at law firms while attending the Florida State University Law School and joined the firm of Steger & Steger, P.A. upon graduation in 2006. While in law school, Lori met her husband Jacob Ensor (who also practices law in the Stuart, Florida), and they were married in 2007.

Mr. Steger did a wonderful job...

Very pleased!!!

Mr. Steger did a wonderful job on the refinance of my house in 2007. He even helped me to lower the interest rate and not lock in any points, which was great considering the fact that the lender tried to slide that one in there in the end. It was handled very professionally and very quickly. He was a pleasure to deal with and had plenty of info to share on how the whole process worked. I would definately recommend this attorney for your real estate and estate planning needs. Thank you!!!!
