Food: Average, Service: InattentiveWent for lunch. Dinner prices on lunch entreés was disappointing but would have been ok had the food been exceptional. Service was slow with a nearly empty place. Waitress focused more attention on patron at the bar. Jalapeño salsa served along with regular salsa and chips was a standout. By far the best part of the meal.Husband had fajitas and enjoyed them. I had chicken flauta served over cilantro rice. It was way overstuffed with cheese and not much chicken. Had to scrape off excess cheese. I only had half of it yet a full 10 hours later it was still sitting like a lump in my stomach. Won't be going back anytime soon. We seriously need a good Mexican place in the Poconos, but this isn't it.
I took my friend to this restaurant in the hope of introducing her to my kind of cuisine only to be somewhat disappointed. I ordered white rice and pink beans, pork, (pernil) with querro,my favorite, and a beef empanada. The beans came in a small bowl. There was probably 8 beans total, the empanada leaked an excessive amount of grease, the querro was soft( ! ) what? My friend's dish was chicken, which she enjoyed, rice, beans and a chicken empanada. Her's was not greasy. Overall, was not happy with the meal. El Rincon has much better food but unfortunately only one table so you have to order it to go.
Best Sunday brunch in the Poconos! Lots of variety, always quality food, fair price. Service is fast and attentive. Atmosphere is great. My only complaint is they stopped including their WONDERFUL Waldorf salad on the salad bar. Update: Visited again and, yippee, the Waldorf salad was back and delicious! Just one other critique: if they could just tweak their corned beef hash recipe. It always looks good but is just average. If you're listening, I know your chef can amp it up a notch.
I eat there 4 - 5 times / wk. Obviously I enjoy it. The sushi is fresh and tasty, I love the tempura vegetables and tempura sauce. Also really enjoy their sausage and their spinach rolls. also enjoy the Hibachi bar. For the variety and quality the food is very fairly priced. Staff is very enthusiastic, but needs a little more training which I know the owner's are working on.
