5 Star Experience!!!I passed by this shop a few nights ago and walked in this morning just as a walk-in. The style I wanted was small single braids on my natural hair (no extension added). I spoke to 2 ladies, one was the Azara the owner, and was quoted $60. I was so excited! Other African shops quoted me $70/80/90! And African-American salons were worse! They quoted me $120+ and up! I was so frustrated and stressed and didn't know what to do..... so when Azara quoted me $60, i jumped on it! I was seated right away and there was no wait time. Bella started my hair and her and Azara worked on it throughout the process. As the day went on, more people came and even when it got busy, there was little or no wait time and all the ladies were kind and accommodating. Everyone was very warm, friendly, and professional and they don't talk or gossip too much like some other salons. Just work and braid. Other women had their hair done or called on the phone while I was there and they too paid or were quoted very low/affordable prices. I was surprised at how affordable Azara's prices were. And all the ladies left with beautiful hairstyles. No crappy work. Thank you Azara and Bella and I will be back soon!!!
WOW!!!! God bless you my sister......sorry you were so disenchanted.I too am a recent customer of Isabelle's braid shop and to the contrary, I had a beautiful, professional and shift service all on a same day appointment which she went out of her way to accomendate me for.The shop environment was clean, peaceful and the braiders were friendly and I must add......there was no excessive cell phone use or breaks taken.A veteran braider myself , I have been all over the globe for braid services.I commute one hour each way to return for services from Isabelle and will remain a faithful customer. If this were a fine department store and there was a complaint, it would be only fair to return to Customer service and give them a chance to retify the problem. Clearly this was not the case by this previous customer.A fellow sister or business owner would consider the hard work it takes to maintain customer satisfaction and "treat others the way we want to be treated'.We also, DO GET WHAT WE PAY FOR......not sure what size braids you got or what other sevices but shops/salons that charge less than $250 for ANY service is scarce. My advice check it out for yourself before you judge. You dont want to miss out on a great experience.
Ok so the braids were done very nicely.....however shop is NOT clean and they gave me HEAD LICE! I knew my head was itching but I get dandruff easily so I was just washing and oiling my scalp thinking it was ok, WRONG! When my fiance saw a bug in my hair (my natural hair in my nape area that freed from the braids) I almost wrecked my car, no joke! I couldnt calm down. I couldn't get home fast enough and start taking this nightmare out. Of course I had to make an embarrassing stop at Wally World and get over $50 in products to get rid of the lice because I wouldnt be able to sleep another day! I had to spray my home top to bottom and rewash all of my clothes and bedding(I didnt trust anything and wasn't taking any risk), plus I had to remove everything from one of my bathrooms and stay put in there while taking the braids down. During the takedown I found several more bugs and eggs(getting goosebumps thinking about it now). This cute convenient hair style became the biggest mistake of my life. I know some people are going to question how did I know it came from there, I had gone to my regular salon just two weeks prior to the install of the braids. Licensed beauticians are trained to recognize and refuse treatment to anyone with head lice; these braiders are not licensed. In addition to that, I went back and had my edges rebraided and it was just a few days after that the the inital bug was discovered. I did a lot of reasearch on the aweful critters and based on the number of bugs and eggs I found and the appearance of them, that wasn't something I picked up a few days prior, I would have already had them when she re braided the edges (most common location for head lice is around ears and neck, aka where she began braiding) and she continued on, not saying a word. Meaning she would have continued braiding anyones hair who had signs of lice and reusing those same combs and clips, aka passing them from client to client. Ok you guys get the point, I'm freaking out just thinking about it again. Don't go there, that's just gross!
I called in for an appointment for quick easy style. I spoke a lady and she confirmed that they were called French braids and the shop could do them in an hour. I came in at my appointment time, and I showed a picture of the style I wanted. 6 medium sized braids, curved a little and long. She said "Sure we can do that." another braider said "NO! Those are goddess braids!". I sat in the chair she showed me the length and not the entire braid and I approved the length ONLY! By the time she was done I had 4 HUGE braids in my hair and she covered my head in black ( ProAm) gel! I was so disgusted with the style and the manager tried to put it on ME that it was my fault because I should have looked at what she was doing. I told her that the way she was braiding my hair I couldn't hold my head up to look. I also told her that I showed her the picture and if she couldn't do the style she should have just told me. I didn't let them finish and I left after paying my fee of 1$5 per braid and left.
I have been going to Simply Beautiful Hair Boutique for a couple of years after a falling out (very rude service) at another salon where I really liked my stylist. I have very course, thick and coiley hair that is impossible to deal with. Joette is a miracle worker. She listens to what I want and will (gently) tell me no if she thinks a style just won't work. I have never been disappointed, and the fee is worth every penny. Not to mention, even though she is the owner, he never overbooks and ignores you to tend to her four other clients. I've also tried out Kat and Dee Dee there, and they are phenomenal as well!
I love this place as well. I got my hair braided for my cruise and just love it. The young ladies that work in this shop are very friendly and they are like family. That is how long they have been doing my hair.
I love this place ! I've been going here since my senior year of highschool.... All the ladies are friendly and work fast. I'm never in the longer than 5 hours ! Whenever I call I can get in the same day! Thanks ladies you are the best !!
Not yet a customer. I was curious to why I could not read the negative reviews, it kept re-directing me the 5 stars reviews. This isn't helping me make my decision at all. It looks like the current customer who had mentioned bogus 5 stars reviews were posted so the shop would look creditable and get clients. SMH.
They MUST be writing their own reviews! I went there WITH my hair already micro braided from previously done a month earlier in NY. All I wanted was to re-do the front/back of my hair, fresh up the hair a bit. Even though I did call and explain what I needed done. Got there and was told by Isabelle that she DIDN'T know how to braid short hair. I've always worn braids and never once had anyone told me my had was too short for braids! Clearly, she shouldn't be having a hair salon. Very dirty, out dated shop, old unsafe furniture. Their neglected kids in the salon, crying and fussing. As far as I could see, NOBODY in that salon knew how to braid! So please, STOP with the fraudulent reviews. Does anyone know where I can get real nice microbraids done in the state of GA????
Maintaining "natural" hair can be time consuming and challenging, so I was looking for other options other than a sew in or wearing a wig. I'd never had braids before and decided to give it a try. I was extremely nervous because I was not familiar with any shop in the area that could create a nice style that I would love. I started searching the internet and after about two weeks I came across the reviews for Isabelle's African Hair Braiding shop. There were more positives than negatives so I decided to give her a call. I spoke with the owner, Ms. Isabelle, and immediately had a wonderful conversation with her. She is a soft spoken, patient and very understanding woman. I told her I would like to come in and discuss styles that I thought would work for me. She is very knowledgeable and professional and she recommended the best braids for my hair. I made an appt. for that weekend. She was very open to the date and time I wanted to have my hair done. Needless to say, I was a nervous wreck on the day that I was to get it done. She told me how to "prep" my hair before getting it braided (another sign of her excellent knowledge and years of experience). I was always told how sore my scalp would be during and after getting braids. She understood my concerns and told me she would not have the braids too tight. To make a long story short, I have been back 3 times since my first experience with Ms. Isabelle and her sweet sisters (who assist her). I get tons of compliments on my braids and they last a very long time. Another great thing about Ms. Isabelle and her sisters, they value their customers and do the very best to make the customer comfortable and satisfied. I am a customer for life and can not imagine going anyplace else to have my braids done. Try it for yourself and you will also be a believer. Oh and the prices are excellent!! May God continue to richly bless you Ms. Isabelle!
