5 Star Experience!!!I passed by this shop a few nights ago and walked in this morning just as a walk-in. The style I wanted was small single braids on my natural hair (no extension added). I spoke to 2 ladies, one was the Azara the owner, and was quoted $60. I was so excited! Other African shops quoted me $70/80/90! And African-American salons were worse! They quoted me $120+ and up! I was so frustrated and stressed and didn't know what to do..... so when Azara quoted me $60, i jumped on it! I was seated right away and there was no wait time. Bella started my hair and her and Azara worked on it throughout the process. As the day went on, more people came and even when it got busy, there was little or no wait time and all the ladies were kind and accommodating. Everyone was very warm, friendly, and professional and they don't talk or gossip too much like some other salons. Just work and braid. Other women had their hair done or called on the phone while I was there and they too paid or were quoted very low/affordable prices. I was surprised at how affordable Azara's prices were. And all the ladies left with beautiful hairstyles. No crappy work. Thank you Azara and Bella and I will be back soon!!!

I used Sonja as my hair stylist, the first time she did my hair it was Great. I went back again and my hair started to break and was severly damage…
I paid $10 ON 05/03/18 to reserve my appointment for 3:30pm with Tiffany on 05/06/18 as directed to by Kelly, the owner.I arrived at 3:17 pm on 05/06/17. I wanted a trim with a full sew im .When I got there,Tiffany told me to have a seat. After waiting 20 minutes,Tiffany informed me that even though I paid the $10,I wouldn't be seen until she was finished with the woman in her chair, who was only 1/3 finished. I called Kelly, aka Kariah, the owner. She said she was out with family and would give me my $10 back and have to go elsewhere! Why would I wait until 5 or 6 oclock and my PAY a reservation that was for 3:30? Kelly also had choice words for me & proceeded to hang up in my face! When Tiffany realized she wouldn't be doing my hair, she LOCKED the door! All this because I wanted to get a service in a timely manner!Ridiculous, unprofessional& highly GHETTO!
WOW!!!! God bless you my sister......sorry you were so disenchanted.I too am a recent customer of Isabelle's braid shop and to the contrary, I had a beautiful, professional and shift service all on a same day appointment which she went out of her way to accomendate me for.The shop environment was clean, peaceful and the braiders were friendly and I must add......there was no excessive cell phone use or breaks taken.A veteran braider myself , I have been all over the globe for braid services.I commute one hour each way to return for services from Isabelle and will remain a faithful customer. If this were a fine department store and there was a complaint, it would be only fair to return to Customer service and give them a chance to retify the problem. Clearly this was not the case by this previous customer.A fellow sister or business owner would consider the hard work it takes to maintain customer satisfaction and "treat others the way we want to be treated'.We also, DO GET WHAT WE PAY FOR......not sure what size braids you got or what other sevices but shops/salons that charge less than $250 for ANY service is scarce. My advice check it out for yourself before you judge. You dont want to miss out on a great experience.
Rose works hard to ensure service is premium. Hands down the best stylist after 14 years!! Margaret, Chioma, Claudette and Yoland are great and they all work together to make Favor Hair Studio a fun atmosphere with great results.
Ok so the braids were done very nicely.....however shop is NOT clean and they gave me HEAD LICE! I knew my head was itching but I get dandruff easily so I was just washing and oiling my scalp thinking it was ok, WRONG! When my fiance saw a bug in my hair (my natural hair in my nape area that freed from the braids) I almost wrecked my car, no joke! I couldnt calm down. I couldn't get home fast enough and start taking this nightmare out. Of course I had to make an embarrassing stop at Wally World and get over $50 in products to get rid of the lice because I wouldnt be able to sleep another day! I had to spray my home top to bottom and rewash all of my clothes and bedding(I didnt trust anything and wasn't taking any risk), plus I had to remove everything from one of my bathrooms and stay put in there while taking the braids down. During the takedown I found several more bugs and eggs(getting goosebumps thinking about it now). This cute convenient hair style became the biggest mistake of my life. I know some people are going to question how did I know it came from there, I had gone to my regular salon just two weeks prior to the install of the braids. Licensed beauticians are trained to recognize and refuse treatment to anyone with head lice; these braiders are not licensed. In addition to that, I went back and had my edges rebraided and it was just a few days after that the the inital bug was discovered. I did a lot of reasearch on the aweful critters and based on the number of bugs and eggs I found and the appearance of them, that wasn't something I picked up a few days prior, I would have already had them when she re braided the edges (most common location for head lice is around ears and neck, aka where she began braiding) and she continued on, not saying a word. Meaning she would have continued braiding anyones hair who had signs of lice and reusing those same combs and clips, aka passing them from client to client. Ok you guys get the point, I'm freaking out just thinking about it again. Don't go there, that's just gross!
I went there to have my hair done for a concert I was attending. She made me look like Farrah Faucet....it was 1988.
Please be aware of this salon. The prices are too high and the employees are either high or drunk most of the time. A stylist named LYNN, you may notice she added a good review FOR HERSELF below this one, has proven to be the most negligent stylist in THIS SHOP. She speaks highly of herself BUT does a HORRIBLE job on HAIR AND BRAIDS mainly because she attempts to juggle between doing hair improperly, smoking between sessions and EVEN DRINKING ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES WHICH SHE HIDES IN AN UNNOTICEABLE CUP OR BOTTLED BEVERAGE. And when I texted her she responded with this message;Verbatim:"Drinks do not affect my work. Plus I can multi task. And make money an deal with ignorance at the same dame time."You would think she would want to represent her job more highly and with class being that she is elderly. But that was not the case. Prior to dealing with LYNN I did my eyelashes there as well. The young lady in the styling chair to the right glued my eyes completely shut and still overcharged me. The salon owner even APOLOGIZED for the apprentices' POOR WORK after fixing them. Upset, the young lady (apprentice) began to curse and give me mean looks !? Sadly the lashes STILL CAME OFF THE NEXT DAY AND LEFT MY EYES SO SWOLLEN that if the swelling did not decrease, I would have considered HOSPITALIZATION.SURPRISINGLY THE NAIL SALON NEXT DOOR FIXED THE ERRORS. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?! It was a must for me to give them a 5 ⭐️ Rating. I WILL PUT ON RECORD THAT THE OWNER of Butterfly Salon IS PROBABLY THE ONLY PERSON WHO IS WELL TRAINED AND PROFESSIONAL. Yet i wonder how she is not aware of her Emplyees DRINKING, smoking and UNPROFESSIONALISM. Hopefully she takes note to this review and fixes the Salons Flaws.
I called in for an appointment for quick easy style. I spoke a lady and she confirmed that they were called French braids and the shop could do them in an hour. I came in at my appointment time, and I showed a picture of the style I wanted. 6 medium sized braids, curved a little and long. She said "Sure we can do that." another braider said "NO! Those are goddess braids!". I sat in the chair she showed me the length and not the entire braid and I approved the length ONLY! By the time she was done I had 4 HUGE braids in my hair and she covered my head in black ( ProAm) gel! I was so disgusted with the style and the manager tried to put it on ME that it was my fault because I should have looked at what she was doing. I told her that the way she was braiding my hair I couldn't hold my head up to look. I also told her that I showed her the picture and if she couldn't do the style she should have just told me. I didn't let them finish and I left after paying my fee of 1$5 per braid and left.
Great salon. Stylist are courteous and serving. They specialize in full weaves, natural hair, braids, perm, press, and short cuts. Favor hair studio also sells hair extension bundles at an affordable cost.
The salon as a whole is nice. However, I will NOT be returning. I scheduled a appt with "celebrity hair stylist" Elijah about a month ago. I got a weave done and I recently just took it out. As I was taking the weave out I couldn't help but notice how much pressure was put along the side of my head and the middle, there were these tiny braids along the edge of my head with four tracks attached to it! The middle of my head was very lumpy and braided very bulky! Again with multiple tracks attached! As I was washing my hair I noticed it seemed very thin at first I thought I was over exaggerating but It wasn't until I pressed my hair out that I could see how it dramatically broke off and had thinned in the sections that had been pulled. I'm furious because as a "celebrity hairstylist" I expected more!!! The sew-in was horrible and by far the worst I've ever had! I always get sew-ins and never in my life have I experienced breakage like this! I'm returning to my REAL stylist so he can fix the mess Elijah has caused! I don't recommend going to him for a sew-in!!
