If I could give these folks 10 stars, I would gladly do so. After nearly 1 month of fighting with one of the big box stores and their installers, I stopped in to Ace Hardware on Benjamin Holt. I told Mark what I wanted done. He gave me a rough estimate without looking at the job. Satisfied with the estimated price, we scheduled the work. The technicians (Bill and Tom) showed up on time with all of the parts and equipment they needed to do the job. They were efficient, professional, courteous, and friendly. As someone who likes to oversee work being done on and around my house, I had a lot of questions. Bill and Tom were more than happy to explain everything they were doing and answered all of my questions. They finished in a timely manner and UNDER the estimated price. I HIGHLY recommend Ace Hardware on Ben Holt and their technicians for any work you may want done around your house.
In the past I have never been disappointed with the service and reliability of the personnel at Ace stores. That changed considerably this week. Needing a belt for a riding lawnmower mowing deck I supplied the personnel at the store with the previous belt to compare. He came back with one he said he directly compared with original. When I arrived 39 miles later installed it and the belt had grown 6 inches longer. Needless to say, not a happy camper. When I drove back 4 days later I was informed could not return without brown paper sleeve nor receive credit toward another purchase. So , it was my mistake...for not realizing their mistakes would eventually cause this scenario. Next scenario, will lament the passing of customer service to :make your money on the backs of your customers" or, in my case, "FORMER CUSTOMER"
