Mr. J is an absolutely fantastic educator! He has been teaching my teenage son violin for over two years and I am very impressed with his instructional strategies, skill, and patience. He takes the time to get to know his students and their interests in music, incorporating their interests into his lessons, which increases their engagement and interest in practicing. He structures his lessons to give each student the time to work on one piece of the process of learning violin at a time, allowing each student to approach or achieve mastery of that skill before proceeding with a new skill.



Each year, Mr. J also takes the additional time to organize and produce a recital exhibiting the talents each of his students have developed over the previous year. We feel very blessed to have Jerry in our lives and sincerely appreciate the efforts he puts into being such an excellent role model and teacher for his students.

I started playing violin about a year and a half ago, learning out of a “How to Play Irish Fiddle” book. Back in July, I found an ad for a violin teacher that taught bluegrass, and Celtic styles of fiddling as well as classical violin, needless to say, I was quite excited. When I first started the lessons, I had many bad habits, from "Pizza handing" the neck of the violin, to bad bow strokes, and Jerry Pajel broke them very well. I’ve learned a ton from him, and my skill with the violin has increased tremendously, over a short period of time. He’s very dedicated to the violin, and is amazingly talented. When he teaches, he makes sure that you actually understand what he’s teaching you, and does it in a fun way. Jerry is quite flexible in teaching, I told him I was interested in fiddle music, and so he chose some Celtic, and some bluegrass songs that had different techniques prevalent in the pieces, we went through them, and I learned slides, flicks, and grace notes that way. I live about an hour away from Stockton, and it was definitely worth the drive there to learn from him. It has truly been a blessing to take fiddle instruction from this man.

I have been taking violin lessons for one year now (a complete beginner with the violin at the age of 21), and I must say that I learned so much in just my first month of lessons. Jerry Pajel (Mr. J) is a great teacher, not just because he's good at what he teaches, but because he's passionate about it. He is dedicated, committed and makes learning music fun. I am beyond blessed and appreciative of Mr. J because he is helping not just me, but all of his students, pursue their passions through music.

Jerry is an enthusiastic, skilled, young violin teacher, tirelessly going the extra mile each time, with violin lessons for my daughter. With his highly motivating, fun and skilled gestures, he builds confidence to perform better.

He is not only a good teacher but he can interact with you and make your experience fun in learning to play the violin.
