All it takes is a little preparation to get your car winter-ready and to keep from getting into an icy situation.
It’s time to bring long sleeves and long pants out of storage, prep your home and car, and contact the cool weather home/yard contractors.
March 2nd 2016 as I was headed to work my car started jerking had speeds of 10 mph. Drive to Made in Japan who messed up my vehicle told me I needed another engine$4000.00 plus coils $1000.00. Sitting there praying& crying I googled repair shops near Stockbridge, GA. Affordable Auto Repair was @ the top I called spoke Perry. I asked how much for a new engine. He asked if I really needed a engine. I told him thats what the MIJ says no compression on cyl 2&3. He advised me to tow my vehicle to his shop Mr. Perry and his master techs diagnosed. Said there was compression the engine is fine. They diagnosed I needed a ecm and ignition coils. We talked everyday he explained to me what was going on. Mr.Perry got me an awesome rental car rate. He kept up my spirits made me laugh and reassured me he would fix my truck. AND HE FIXED MY TRUCK SAVED ME OVER $4000.00 +. THIS MAN IS A GODSEND! Epitome of a man that keeps his word Perry KNOWS HIS CRAFT. Thank you Mr.Perry for being an awesome Man!
Affordable Auto is an honest, caring, sincere, and understanding company. After 2 weeks of frustration, broken promises, and researching a transmission throughout salvage yards I called Affordable Auto Repair and spoke with Perry. I can honestly say that was the call that changed everything. I explained my situation and not only did he listen, he cared and understood. This was Thursday, May 28, 2015, and by Friday, May 29, 2015 @ 4:00 I had a new transmission in my vehicle with a warranty. Everyone knows that good customer service and good products are hard to find today, so I've done the research for you already up and down the East Coast. Save yourself the time and headache and call Affordable Auto Repair when it comes to your automobile. Of course, no company can please 100% of the people 100% of the time however Affordable Auto goes above and beyond when it comes to taking care of their customers and for that I say "THANK YOU AFFORDABLE AUTO!!" I first met Perry one night as i was towing my recently purchased used boat and trailer from Orlando to Nashville. We were approaching Stockbridge exit when the trailer axle broke! We managed to limp off the interstate into a truck parking area, unable to go any further. We were in a pickle. We started calling place on that exit and then even goodyear commercial unit, but no one was interested in helping us until i contacted Perry! He immediately arranged for a tow truck and tried to find someone around yhat would undertake the repair as it really was outside his normal range of services. Not finding anyone he undertook it himself and had it taken to his shop. After securing the boat, we continued home. Perry kept up informed of his progress and after finding the correct axle, he finished the repair and we returned to pick up the boat. Did a great job at a reasonable price. I am glad i met him that night and can highly recommend him.
I was visiting in Georgia from Texas when my left axle on my car broke. I was stuck in the middle of a very busy street. A nice couple walking by helped push my car onto a side street. Now what??? Out of state and stuck. My daughter started checking on her phone for a repair shop. This one had excellent reviews, so I thought "OK, let's call them". I spoke to Michael who referred me to a wrecker service. Called them........he was there 15 minutes later and towed us to the shop. Michael had my car up in the air as soon as is came of the wrecker. The wonderful wrecker driver gave us a ride back to our motel. 10 minutes later Michael called. My left axle is broken. Told him to fix it......he stated he already ordered it. An hour later he called and stated I can drive back home, everything is fixed. Now came the big question "How much??". He told my the price and I did not feel ripped off. What a wonderful shop. MICHAEL IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!
I had an issue with my BMW 530i 2005, I took my problem to union city BMW..LOST 175.00 diagnostic fee just to find out I would have to pay out 550.00,just to exchange ah alternator, that i bought and 60.00 to register it with the car battery..i was referred to Mr. Michael Long he had excellent customer service, he showed me my car was important to him he was the Doctor and my car was the patient...not only did he do the work in less than an hour he saved me 440.00 then he found that I had a severe oil leak. a 800.00 dollar job, he only charged me 350.00 to replace and fix the problem I didn't have the whole 350.00 he allowed ah payment plan he ask for a 100.00, and I could pay the rest in payments, and drive the car off the lot fixed...I thank God for his business, now he has become my car doctor.. thanks again Mr. Long
I had transmission issues and the 1st mechanic i took it to was a big scam so i googled and found Affordable Auto Repair and decided to give them a call. I spoke with a guy named Perry and told him about the issues i was having with my transmission. Perry was a huge blessing for me because i was traveling back home to Louisiana and didnt have that much money. Not only did he give me a discount on my transmission but he also fixed a few other things on my vehicle and helped out with other expenses. This was God sent because no other mechanic would have done this for me and my little one. Thank you so much Perry for helping me and my little. And thanks to your workers also. May God continue to bless you so that you may continue being a blessing to others!
I cannot understand the shade some people throw and all the negativity. My entire family relies on Affordable Auto for the repairs and maintenance of our vehicles. We have patronized Mr. Perry for years and have had absolutely no problems with our vehicles and the promptness in delivery. As a matter of fact, my son just took his mustang in for an engine replacement and it was ready to go in 10 days which was awesome. I believe people take their cars to shops and expect the cars to come back brand new. All of our cars are 7+ years old and the problems we have had have always been resolved to our satisfaction. Mr. Perry is a Christian man and we appreciate him. Haters stop with the shade and attitude - its not healthy.
EXCEPTIONAL work and professionalism!! Perry, of Affordable Auto Repair has done work on all of my families cars with exceptional performance and no issues. He's always honest about what the car needs and how he can accommodate. Unfortunately, the people on here that's throwing shade at him and his business probably didn't want to listen to his professional expertise in regards to all that their car needed to function properly, and ended up disappointed. I'm certain not with him or his work, but maybe unrealistic expectations. At the end of the day, my experience and the experience of my family has always been professional, honest and Affordable. Thanks Perry for all you do! You're my mechanic for life!
I DON'T WRITE REVIEWS, BUT I MUST TO WRITE THIS ONE. I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO AFFORDABLE AUTO FROM ANOTHER SHOP WHO TOLD ME MY ENGINE WOULD COST $4300 AND TOOK SEVERAL PARTS OFF MY CAR. AFFORDABLE AUTO DID MY COMPLETE ENGINE FOR $2900, WHICH INCLUDED THE PARTS THE OTHER SHOP REMOVED. MY CAR RUNS GREAT! A LOT OF SHOPS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF FEMALES, BUT I AM VERY HAPPY I WENT TO AFFORDABLE AUTO REPAIR. THEY DID A GOOD JOB, GAVE ME A VERY RESONABLE PRICE (WHICH NEVER CHANGED), AND THEY EDUCATED ME ABOUT MY CAR. I WILL ALWAYS USE AND RECOMMEND THEIR SERVICES, THEY CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS, AND IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND A TRUSTWORTH MECHANIC FACILITY. I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY SHARON.
Phenomenal customer service! Fletcher has been our mechanic for about 7 years and has been great. He and his team clearly take pride in their work and creating lifelong customers. There has been more than one occasion he has driven around with us 30+ minutes until whatever weird sound we heard showed up again...he makes time for his customers, is thorough, honest, and fairly priced...the added bonus is you will likely leave laughing and in a better mood than which you arrived in. He is hysterical! These are great guys and we wouldn't go to anyone else!
There are more than 700,000 auto service technicians and mechanics in the U.S. Finding the right one to repair a dent in your car door or fix an engine that won't start can be overwhelming, especially when it's an emergency. Review a few important facts about auto repair professionals and what you can do to get the best possible mechanic working on your vehicle's issues for a fair price.
Looking For Reliability
Unlike home repair services that evaluate a property, meet with homeowners and have time to prepare before their physical work begins, auto repair businesses are often asked to make fixes on the spot. If you come into a garage with a tire issue, the expectation is the mechanic will know how to correct that problem quickly.
That is why reliability is so vital when searching for a trusted auto repair shop. It may take going to several different mechanics before you find one you are truly comfortable with. Pose questions to this professional to find out what approach they will take to repair your car or what alternatives are available. Shopping around also gives you the best opportunity to find the cheapest rate or the fastest service, as some garages may be backed up with other vehicles that need repair first.
A recommended way to locate a trustworthy auto repair professional is to seek out customer reviews. Online sites offer honest opinions from real customers who have used a business. Read through this feedback to learn how a business operates and what you can expect if you were to take your vehicle there. Look for reviews about how quick maintenance was completed and if prices were fair. By learning what other people have said about a garage, you can gain a better idea if it's the right place to go when you have a car problem in need of fixing.
It can be difficult to know which automotive problems are serious enough to require expert assistance. A ripped seat cushion or broken radio don't involve safety and will not warrant enough of a problem that going into a garage is required. However, setbacks with brakes, lights and other parts that are vital to the safety of your car's driver and passengers, as well as others on the road, necessitate quick fixes. Many modern automobiles will notify drivers of an issue, in the form of a signal on the dashboard or a noise within the vehicle.
In the event of an accident, even if your vehicle does not appear to have any damage on the outside, it is generally recommended that you see a trusted auto repair professional. Internal damage may have occurred, or an important part may have been knocked out of place. Fixing these issues before driving much further can prevent further vehicle breakdowns in the future. In the case of a serious accident, a body shop can assess the problems and determine the best course of action for repairs, as well as evaluate how much they will cost.
Beyond that, regular checkups are recommended. Tires must be rotated, fluids needs to be replaced and the engine must be evaluated. After driving 25,000 miles, most auto dealers suggest having the vehicle checked out to ensure everything is running smoothly. Taking the car into the auto repair professional you trust will protect you from further problems down the road.
Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop. At the same time, be aware of mechanic scams that can impact your experience.
Preventing Trips To The Professional
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage. By handling these types of tasks on your own, you'll gain a better understanding for how your car operates and save time and money.
Along with understanding how to fix manageable vehicle issues that may arise, taking preventative measures to avoid future problems is a valuable time saver. Many problem-solving best practices are related to the seasons. Your vehicle will be in different conditions in the winter than in the summer, meaning it requires a different type of preparation.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures the vehicle will be exposed to, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check your tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
There is a common worry among many people that auto repair professionals take advantage of the general public. Because so many people are unaware of how to fix the problems in their vehicle, they are nervous of being overcharged by mechanics or worried that the improper work is being done.
While the great majority of professionals in the industry are honest, hard-working people, a few bad apples can ruin everything. You should be extra careful when first visiting a mechanic to guarantee that the price you're charged and maintenance the vehicle receives are fair.
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you are in the shop and your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill.
The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done. That way, you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
By working closely with an auto repair professional and doing some of the tune-up work on your own, you will be less likely to fall for these scams. At the same time, you'll be able to drive out with a clean and healthy vehicle, thanks to the repairs made by a trained professional.
