We thought we were getting good, professional, caring movers to help my family move from Ft. Wayne to Indianapolis, Indiana. Boy, were we wrong. Everything was fine when they loaded all our stuff into the trucks but when they finally delivered, it was like a race to see how fast they could unload and get out of there. My wife was supposed to monitor all unloading, according to the person I talked to when I tried to file for replacement of everything they broke in the move. There were between three and eight movers at any given time running in and out of the house. What we discovered after they pressured my wife to hurriedly sign the acceptance sheet was heart breaking. The movers had broken many family antiques and precious nick-knacks, there were many crushed boxes and damaged stuff. They hid all the damaged boxes underneath and behind other boxes so we could not see them until we got to them unpacking. When I tried to follow their process to submit a claim for reimbursement, to the tune of $1,600+, they only offered to cover $150 for a broken mirror. They stated that since we signed off on receiving the contents and that we packed ourselves, they had no way to tell what the condition of our stuff was in before the move so they would not cover any of it. They also said my wife should have opened each box and reviewed the contents before the movers left to ensure everything was documented properly. I then submitted a complaint through the BBB and when they answered, they said the same thing and also stated that they offered to pay me the $150 for the mirror which I refused, not true. I guess their way of getting me back for submitting a claim.
