When I had trouble with my water heater, I could not get any help from the company that originally installed it. It was leaking water from the top and we had to get a new one. We fired our previous company and called around, R. A. Dobson took the job.
They came and replaced the heater. They did not charge us extra for carrying it up the steps. When they saw our cream-colored carpeted steps, they paused and sent someone back to the office for heavy-duty cloths to protect our carpet from their shoes.
They have been friendly, professional, with good communication skills. We switched to them to take care of the HVAC as well and have had no problems.
When I had water leaking in my basement I called them. The said I needed a new AC. After it was installed and paid for water was still leaking. Two service calls later they decided it was Hot Water heater not AC. The owner was very defensive and did not offer a particularly good deal on a new hot water heater unit.
My AC unit died during some of the hotter days in the summer so I called around to get multiple quotes for replacement. Some water had leaked and fried the circuit board that controlled all of the electronics controlling the system and required a replacement. My son is 6 months old and keeping him in such a hot house was not an option. After having a very nice sales rep discuss our options we decided to replace the compressor and he agreed to get a tech to our house that night to "hot wire" the system so we could have AC for the night for our son at no extra charge. I thought this was a real stand up thing to do and something I doubt I would find from any other company. I was truely impressed and they managed to get a tech to our house within 2 days to replace the system which was very fast considering it was the busy season. After they left everything seemed to work fine until I noticed the sytem would never ever shut off. I realized that the circuit board was never replaced as we agreed to do and was the cause for the service call in the first place. I called and explained to them what had happened but they decided that I should be charged extra for this. I explained that it was part of the orginal agreement and its what I already paid for but they refused. Of course the person who I discussed it with was on vacation and could not verify anything. Afer several heated exchanges they agreed to replace the circuit board and once the rep got back from vacation he verified that they were supposed to replace it. So I have mixed feeling about the company, they went above and beyond to start, the price was fair, the work that was done was done well, and they did everything quickly. However I was very dissapointed that they were perfectly happy to leave me with a system that was a fire hazard since it was just "hot wired" and only meant to be like that for a few days.
