The infant room here is great. Me. Sue and Me. Stacy are great with the babies and I couldn't ask for a better place for my daughter to go to while I am at work.

This center was not bad until Mary left. The director is very controlling and lies. After I paid the registration fee, she increased the weekly fee to almost double and now will not return the registration fee. Her children are given special treatment, She is not encouraging of the children, this is a money making business for her and she lacks empathy or genuine concern for the children in her care. She either has no trauma training or slept through that class. Many day cares out there, this is one of the worst.
When I first started searching for daycares for my 3 month old I was so anxious and scared to leave my daughter with a complete stranger. BUT when I called Kindercare Monica VanSumer completely blew away all my fears. She made me feel very understood and comfortable! Monica took the time to ask me what was the most important thing that I want for my daughter at daycare and I told her to feel loved and nurtured.Monica definitely went above and beyond for me. After my first visit at Kindercare I knew that this is where I wanted to take my daughter. Monica made me feel so extremely welcomed and comfortable. She is a great asset to the Kindercare company! All 3 girls in the infant room, you can tell LOVE babies, LOVE what they do, and the babies LOVEEE them! It's always such a great feeling coming in and seeing happy teachers and happy babies! I don't know how these 3 ladies keep with up so many babies and make it look easy! They all definitely give every individual baby the attention they need! Hannah, Sarah, and April are a blessing!
The teachers were great, but the management staff is very difficult to deal with and lacking compassion or patience, often too visibly for my taste. I pulled my daughter not long after doing my homework and finding a review online about all of their hidden fees (unless you want to pay $30 in tuition fees for a fleece sleeping bag with a pillow safety pinned to it, plus another $30 for a "loaner".) One other sore spot with me was that I was tired of seeing other people's children running around rampant without anyone at the front desk intervening to help them. Who wants their car scratched by a child's umbrella? NOT ME!! My daughter's new school is MUCH better! Avoid this place at all costs!! If this doesn't convince you not to send your precious ones here, this review that I found from December 2016 describes how management also treats their staff: Run away quickly. The owner is very controlling. She will try to micromanage you and your classroom( you can't have your own opinion) You can't leave the building for your lunchbreak which you have to clock out for. There are cameras with audio watching your every move. If that is not enough she has you clean the building daily and non stop. When children are sleeping you must wipe walls, windows, blinds, all toys and scub room from top to the base boards .( she has a checklist) Remember she is watching your every move. Your schedule will never be consistent and you never know how many hours you are going to have. There is constant documentation of the children day which you must enter before leaving for the day. She expects you to mop, vacuum (which you have to rent for $25 or bring in 1 from home) and clean 1-2 bathrooms and take out the trash before leaving. You have a uniform the cost is deducted from your pay.
I love the extended hours they offer. The staff and teachers are very nice. They offer a lot of learning activities which I find important.
We have been going to the academy for 5 years. The care is great, close to home, affordable, and our daughter has made many friends. I would highly recommend the center to anyone interested.
Mrs. Monica (the center director), Mrs. Kari (assistant director) and Mrs. Gail (Preschool room teacher) are amazing. I have never met a care giver more caring, loving and understanding than these three ladies. I am so happy I choose to send my daughter to this location. They are truly supportive and only want the best for my family! Thank you ladies for all you do!
I could not ask for a better preschool teacher for my son. Ms Sarah ans Ms Stephanie are amazing and so caring. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
Wonderful facility and staff! Have to pull my son out of the building almost every day!
Children's Academy is a Montessori school and has two locations; Macomb Children's Academy (MCA) located in Sterling Heights on Fifteen Mile just East of Dequindre, and Oakland Children's Academy (OCA) located in Troy on Maple just West of Dequindre. My two daughters attended both facilities. MCA offers a Toddler program ages 18 months to three years; and Preprimary (preschool) starting at age three. The preprimary curriculum is equivalent to kindergarten in a public school. They learn math, geography, physical science and reading. Most of the children are reading by the end of the school year! Once a week they attend a “special” for Music, Spanish and Stretch and Grow. OCA offers Preprimary through 5th grade. They also get Music, Spanish, Stretch and Grow along with Art and Computer Technology! I feel the foundation in their academics has helped them tremendously! My oldest daughter started public school in the 3rd grade because at the time, OCA only went through 2nd grade. Anyway, in 3rd grade she tested at a 5th grade level! I believe my kid’s early education was money well spent!
