I came to riggs machine shop to have 2 bearings replaced on my vermeer stumpgrinder. A good friend of mine referred me to there shop because they did the very same service for him plus they made a new shaft for his stumpgrinder and charged him $370. So I figured sounds great but I unknowingly made a huge mistake! I also left my trailer there to have 2 new safety chains welded on there (even had my own chains!) and have the gate tack welded. My final bill was $831 plus tax! Labor was 4 hours at $55 per hour...how could it possibly be $831! The owner J.c. had no good answer. Perhaps it was because I was not from Stephenville? Maybe he had a big expense he needed to pass off on an unknowing customer. Whatever the case I would strongly not recommend for anyone to use there services because they will severely overcharge you
