Do you want to try an outstanding restaurant that just opened up a couple of months ago? This is the place to go. Recently, we tried Hong Kong Kei One and had an excellent meal. We started our 1st course with the Boneless Spare Ribs - which were delicous. We followed up with 3 entrees: General Tso's Chicken (white meat chicken), Beef with Black Bean Sauce, and Roast Pork Egg Foo Young. These dishes were great. This up and coming restaurant is 2nd to none, in my opinion. The service was very accommodating. Prices were reasonable too and the ambience was pleasing to the eye.
This was a very unpleasant experience as this restaurant has a waitress who not only is extremely rude but apparently racist. She was overheard three times by different people saying she wanted to hurry and get these ghetto people out referring to a small party of african americans. She also told a Caucasian couple whe would much rather serve them than these ghetto people. The manager was called over however she was not reprimanded by the manager at all. I would never go back this restaurant. Their staff apparently needs retraining on serving people of all ethnicities and culture.
They advised delivery would be 30 mins and then an hour and half later the cold food arrived and it was all in the bag vs in the containers I called back and they said that I must have done it unreal I will never use again
My family and I ordered from this place about a week ago. I ordered a boneless chicken breast sandwich. So my food gets delivered. I take a bite of what was thought to be chicken, only to take a few chews of this rubbery something or other. Of course I spit it out after figuring out what I was eating was in fact not chicken. I dissected my sandwich and as you will see in the pic I've provided below, I was clearly not given chicken. I can't imagine what I was given but with all the horror stories out there on Chinese food, I could only imagine what it was. So because I had to give them a star just because it's a must, I would recommend never eating at this restaurant.
Who gave this restaurant a 5 star the food is awful and when you tell them something is wrong with the food they get an attitude ..I don't recommend it never again..Will I eat there

I had read a recent Daily News article that the Chef Jan Kitchen recently opened in Grant City. After reading the Daily News' positive review about this restaurant, I was excited to try this cuisine which is Mandarin, Szechuan, and Hunan Chinese food supervised by one of Taiwan's top chefs -- Chef Jan who won 14 gold medals in international culinary competitions.On Sunday, I had the pleasure of sampling some amazing Chinese cuisine. Even though the restaurant was very busy, the staff went out of their way to give us great customer service. Our server, Apple, recommended that we try both the shredded pork in garlic sauce and the jumbo shrimp in garlic sauce dishes for dinner. Each dish was different and special. Chef Jan prepared both dishes with a high level of skill, expertise, and experience. These dishes were aesthetically pleasing to the eye as well as tasteful to the palate. Both dishes had layers upon layers of delicious flavors.In the last week, I have been to this restaurant not once, not twice, but three times because the food is so so good.I am encouraged that they do not use any MSG at all in the dishes we had. I just want to be clear that every ingredient that Chef Jan used to prepare my dish was the best quality and very fresh. Chef Jan's shrimps were the very best I ever eaten.Our bartender for the evening was Tony who is a master at making cocktails that I would highly recommend. For dessert, we had an incredible fried banana that was out of this world.The owners, Alison and Chef Jan himself, visited our table and asked how our dinner was. I explained to them that this was the best Chinese food experience that I ever had on Staten Island. Alison and Chef Jan were very nice and extremely respectful and made us feel at home. They and their staff are wonderful people. The staff of Chef Jan Kitchen are very hardworking people and friendly.And if you want an extraordinary meal prepared by a master chef, then come to Chef Jan Kitchen.I give this restaurant the highest possible rating.
I really like these guys. Chinese on midland ave. They even deliver far. My Xwife who was cocky & to good for small places like this, like some people are, she even said the food hair taste good & fresh. I usually write on here Y.P. or yelp, if I had bad experience to warn people, & let people know not to waste there $$ money. I have to learn to get on here when positive lol. I want to give 4 stars, but there prices went up, & sometimes they have bit of a attitude , but most the time there nice. Everyone has there day's.
Best chinese food and amazing prices. The chicken dumpling and pork dumpling were juicy and nutty. The pad thai beef was sweet and spicy with abit of acidity. Best of all, the thai curry chicken was very savory and had a creamy and spicy taste. Overall, the service was amazing and the place was very clean.
Drove passed this place the other day and wanted to try it out. The prices were good and the place was very clean. For the appetizer, we ordered some spring rolls and scallion pancakes. The scallion pancakes were very light, flaky and multilayered. The spring rolls were crispy and and rich with flavor. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken. The outside was a light golden brown and very chrispy. The chicken was very tender and juicy. The sauce wasnt too sweet and complemented the savory flavor of the chicken. My husband ordered the mongolian beef. The beef was very tender and soft. There was a hint of sweetness which contrasted greatly with the spice and brought the dish to a new level of flavor. It was so good that we ordered another to take home. The service was very nice and all the food was served very quickly. Everything was so fresh. Im going to be coming back to this place very soon.
