Well thank god I didnt listen to the negative reviews on this site. Over the summer after a bad storm I lost a lot of siding on my house. A neighbor recommended Mario to me. We had a scheduled start date on a wednesday and he actually showed up two days earlier just before another storm. I had not researched him as I just wanted the work done fast. While he was doing the siding, my wife asked him if he remodeled bathrooms. He looked at our bathroom and gave us a quote. Being satisfied with his work on the siding and after getting quotes from two other contractors for my bathroom, my wife and I chose to go with Mario. When we were ready we met with him and he gave us a complete list of items we would need to begin the job. Being a retired Detective and suspect of everyone, I decided to do some research before I totally committed to him. I read some of the negative comments and became a little concerned with what I read but gave him the benefit of the doubt. Good thing I did. Once I had everything ready and waiting for him at Lowes. He began the job. He picked up all items and worked 12 hours a day for seven days straight. Yes, he was there everyday along with his helper, who by the way only speaks spanish. Some people may think this is an issue but what difference does it make what language a person speaks if the job gets done to the customers satisfaction. Like every major project sometimes other things need to be purchased that were not originally bought. When this happenned, Mario would inform me and went after a complete day of work to purchase what was needed. He always provided receipts for everything extra. His patience through out the process was incredible as my wife and I had changed some of the thinigs we originally wanted done. Mario did not ask for a dime until the job was complete and to our satisfaction. His input on some of the things we wanted done was a great help as my wife and I were conflicted on what to do in certain areas. When it was all said and done my wife and I have a bathroom that looks like something out of a 5 star hotlel. His attention to detail and meticulous nature made for an amazingly rebuilt bathroom. Im sorry to those reading this long review but I felt it was neceassary considering some of the things people said about him. This is his livelihood and now with the internet it is easy for someone to talk negatively about someone and hide behind these boards and affect someones monetary situations. Owning a business of my own now I know the importance of customer satisfaction. Oh yeah, Judges on Staten Island just dont settle cases on behalf of contractors without cause either. Some people are just never going to pleased no matter what so do yourself a favor and atleast meet with the guy before you draw conclusions based on what you read on these boards. I wish I can upload pictures so you can see the job he did for me.
Worst contractor I've worked with. DO NOT HIRESimilar to other reviews, this guy did a patchwork, garbage job that I ended up having to get fixed by a proficient roofer. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere.
I hired them to fix my roof and then had to get another roofer to fix his work, it was so bad. I couldn't get him back to fix it of course since he told me that there was nothing wrong with his work so refused to come over and even look at it.
I hired this company to fix my roof. 9 months later water started leaking in and I called them back to see what the problem was. They told me it wasn't their work. Not believing them, I called another roofer and he found that they never sealed the rubber down to the roof and this let water leak under the rubber. I had to pay the other roofer to fix Pro Tech's work. Definitely will not be calling them back again.
