avoid this place!

Avoid this place!! Took my cat to get spayed she came back with a huge ugly wound. Followed their instructions for care but it got infected then they charged me 400 to fix their lousy initial care so it effectively cost me 500 to get my cat spayed! Never again!

Dr. Zachary Clark of Stafford Oaks saw my thirteen year old dog yesterday who had some trouble walking and standing yesterday. This was all very sudden as last week I have pictures of him running and jumping for treats. I took my dog to see Dr. Clark, as Dr. Brady was not in that day. Dr. Clark, after a minimal examination, decided that my dog had arthritis. As my dog is thirteen years old, this was not news to me, however, when asked if arthritis could be the cause of such a fast decline in my dog's muscle tone, energy, appetite, etc., Dr. Clark said it was "serious" arthritis. Serious indeed, as my dog indeed did have arthritis, however, this was NOT what had caused the rapid decline in my dog's health. After coming back to Stafford Oaks today and seeing Dr. Putska, I learned that what actually was happening to my dog was a large tumor that was bleeding out, which is what had caused the neurological problems relating to my dog's inability to walk or stand. I understand that discovering that my dog had cancer a day earlier would not have changed the outcome (my dog had to be put down), but it would have saved my dog a day of suffering with severe internal bleeding, extreme pain in his legs, inability to empty his bladder resulting in strong discomfort, among a myriad of other things.

I understand people make mistakes, but this is not the first time a vet at Stafford Oaks has misdiagnosed one of my dogs. Three years ago, Dr. Stanley, who is no longer at Stafford Oaks, said that my 4 year old dog had arthritis when she really had hemolytic anemia. Just like with what happened today, a doctor at Stafford Oaks said one of my dogs had arthritis and presercibes multiple expensive medications, only for us to come back the next day to receive the correct diagnosis from a properly trained doctor. Luckily, in this case, my younger dog was able to be saved at the expense of $8,000 at Gulf Coast Vet Hospital. Please note that I did not mention that ANY staff or doctor at Stafford Oaks apologized for these grave errors, because no one did. They are aware of the mistake they made 3 years ago, but have clearly not learned. The disrespect and utter disregard that Stafford Oaks employees have for their customers is evident as they not once have apologized or offered a refund for the ridiculous misdiagnosises.

CAUTION! Animal lovers please BE AWARE!!! Too many Doctors and high turnover in vet technicians at this office. Reviewing charts, reading medical histories, and taking notes are not a priority when treating your pet. This type of negligence could cause your pet to suffer. My dog has an auto immune disorder and there are certain drugs(antibiotics) like Penicillin if administered can be apart of the underlying factor that can trigger this disease. The two male Doctors in this office gave my dog Penicillin at two different appointments. Prior to my pet's treatment I signed release forms stating no Penicillin was to be given to my dog and had SPECIFICALLY discussed the reason why he should not be given this drug. They completely IGNORED to what I had to say and failed reading his chart prior to treatment. Luckily my dog was not affected by this mistake. The owner did apologize but how could I ever trust this office again? My only advice to her is stop hiring CARELESS Doctors HELLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
