Mike's American Grill

Very nice establishment. I never leave reviews but I felt like I had to after eating here. Food was great, drinks were good. Waiter was very knowledge on the menu. Little on the pricy side obviously depending on what you order, but worth it by all means.

Although, this place was difficult to park & on the louder side we loved it. Call ahead seating had our wait under 5 minutes. I ordered the crab cake platter. Probably the best crab cakes I've ever had. The sweet potato fries were great as well. My husband ordered the bacon burger (but held the sauce). He was impressed with the flavor of the beef. Forgetting that I mentioned to the waitress that we were celebrating our anniversary, we were delightfully surprised by the dessert I ordered. It was (delicious)pumpkin cheesecake on a beautifully decorated plate that read "happy anniversary" in chocolate with a heart. The best part, FREE in honor of our celebration. The staff were great & decor tasteful, definitely putting on our favorite list.

Please dear Mike's American Restaurant people ... I would LOVE for you to deliver! This is the best food in the area! I love the service, the decorations, the people, and the food, of course! Great times!

Consistenly good food because they have quality control in place which is always a sign of a restaurant that cares about their customers. If you're unhappy with your order, the manager will arrive at your table to talk to you and to ensure you are happy with your meal. Much like Cheesecake Factory, this type of quality control works. The reason I'm not giving them a five is because, occasionally, the waiter/waitresses have a subtle negative attitude that detracts enjoyment of my meal. However, for the most part, really like this restaurant.

I made dinner plans for Wednesday Septemeber 16th for five people, I'm the general director for the Army Corp of Engineers at Fort Belvoir. Upon entering and making reservations my group decided to wait in the bar area. Being very crowded, we guided our way through tables to find a place to sit. My colleague, also a member of the Corps, knocked a bar stool over in the process of making our way through crowd to the empty seats. We sat in the bar area(ate and drank) until we we're told our table was ready. Once we we're at our table our waitress approrached us for our beverage order, then proceeded to inform us our table was not allowed to order alcoholic beverages during our meal due to the fact that my colleague had accidentally knocked over a bar stool while we we're waiting(keep in mind we waited 20 minutes an no one had a drink until we arrived there). I would not reccomend this establishment for groups simply due to the way we we're treated upon response to our order request. I explained to our waitress that no one had really had anything to drink and she replied that the bartender for the evening was in a bad mood and that was his reasoning for acting that way. Dinner party plans for five we're wasted and embarrasing, upon being told we could not order beverages we kindly asked for our check and left. I would not reccomend this place for groups and will never entertain there again. Please take this review sincerely, I've worked as a professional chef for 15 years.

I just wanted to say that the meal we had at this restaurant was the best we have had in quite a long while. Everything was great. The atmosphere, the food, the apple pie! I just wanted to say that our waiter Justin was awesome. He did a great job and was very friendly to a couple of out of towners.
