I love going to Springfield skateland, the rink it great. Tho they lack in costumer service. The only thing I think they really need is a tiny part of the rink blocked of for begginers, instead of having a whole ton of the PBC pipe (skate mates) in the rink.
I've always loved roller skating, and Skateland was the go-to. However, as I have continued paying visits to this facility, I have found that the customer service is incredibly lacking and the level of rudeness has made skating here NOT enjoyable. Instead of that warm welcoming feeling you should have when entering a fun-enthused environment (like bowling alleys and swimming pools where they are WAY nicer than the people here), you are overwhelmed with the "give us your money and stay off of our wall" attitude. The staff are more like "skating police" rather than helpful and friendly. Should I also mention that the management speaks to all customers the same. Whether you're a 5 year old kid learning to skate, or a 40 year old parent, they are rude and unfriendly. Does it hurt to crack a smile even once? I could go on and on with my dissatisfaction. Therefore, I will be taking my money and my skates elsewhere...even though Skateland has now monopolized the roller rink industry due to Skateport closing. Audios Skateland, I'm taking my friends with me.
One of the largest rinks in the area, it is home to the WFTDA Springfield Rollergirls and Ozarks Derby Brigade Roller Derby teams. It also has an inline racing team for those so inclined. Sessions are popular among all ages and it offers a very well stocked Pro Shop with a knowledgable staff.
