My Craftsman riding lawn mower was smoking. I had purchased the extended warranty. Service tech out and found the seal on the header was the problem. Replaced gasket and new spark plug. Cleaned buildup on valves and piston. Started the machine and it ran fine. Very satisfied with the service and the warranty.
Arrived at stated time. It was raining very hard, and technician had to work outside, and I advised him he could leave and come back at a later date. Technician advised he would work anyway. Fixed my lawn tractor. Now the pleasant surprise, work done, cost me less this time. I had the same problem years earlier, and had a rough idea what it would cost me. This time, using Sears, the cost was cheaper than 4 years ago, and in that case I had to drop the mower deck, drive to shop, wait 6 weeks, and remount deck. Will use Sears again. I was very pleased with service.
Selection? were we allowed to select a service period, only an 8 to 5 on a given day. Service? Would have been 5 stars if only they had asked, "Since you made the appointment online, did you print out the 20% discount in advance?" Nope, they didn't ask ! Even though we called the "service center" explaining we had a pre-dated print out, they said it was to late to make the 20% savings. THAT IS DISAPPOINTING !
I thought the service was wonderful. I have had several experiences with Sears Repairs, and all of them positive.
Absolutely the worst. I had two service calls scheduled for Friday: one for a dryer, one for a lawnmower. The dryer repair was supposed to call me Friday morning to confirm the time. I stayed home from work all morning. The tech for the lawnmower was supposed to be there 8-10am. At 11, I had heard nothing and called them, only to be told that there was no dryer service scheduled and they couldn't come out that day. They confirmed the lawnmower appointment for 3:15=4:15 (NOT 10-11 as prearranged). At 2:00 I got a call from the tech saying he was on the way and would be there within 1-1/2 hours. He never showed up. No explanation. And believe me, we tried to get an explanation. My husband couldn't get a supervisor to even acknowledge that there was a problem. the first available reschedule was the NEXT THURSDAY--I made two more calls trying to get it rescheduled for the next day, but no explanation and no help. If I could give them less than one star, I would.
I entered the store yesterday around 11:00 a.m. One clerk was on the phone, one was packaging something and the other walked into the back room. I was ignored from the moment I walked in the shop. Finally the man on the phone spoke. I showed him an old drip pan from a White Westinghouse stove and then the new drip pans that I had purchased at Walmart. The Walmart pans did not work because the vent hole was too small. I explained this to the clerk. Even after showing him what the problem was and asking if he could find this part. He still did not understand what I wanted. He argued with me about the brand of stove , even with me having the original parts book and serial number , right in front of him. Horrible store, horrible service. No wonder people order online.
You need to sync your times with the local office! They said we would be second on the list and turned out to be last. Understanding that most calls were in Springfield and the service person lived closer to us, why wouldn't he arrange his times that way? Service person ordere part and placed repair for the next week. Somehow the office again skipped us. I was glad to get the same service person because he knew exactly what to do! He was awesome!!!
This is a great store! Love doing business with them. They always seem to have most of what we need or can get it quickly for us!
Took my mower in to be repaired. Took them a month to get it fixed. I had to call several times to check on their progress. When it was finally finished they did not call and inform me. It was waiting for two weeks to be picked up. Employees were not helpful at all.
Needed to replace some parts for my dryer, 1st Source seemed to have the best prices in town, but when I got the parts home, they didn't work. Tried taking them back, and the store refuses to refund money, but they offered to replace the parts. Second set of parts didn't work either, no refund, no exchange. Called their corporate office and was treated terrible.
