Excellent and compassionate care for families in need of great help with their loved ones. Staff are knowledgeable, from different backgrounds, and it is evident that they want to help. Patients there are in crisis and have been unable to make improvements without greater help. What an incredible place to have so close by. Thank you, Lakeland, for all that you to for our communities.

In response to what the previous reviewer said, Lakeland is obligated by law to keep patient records confidential.

Lakeland is a well run, caring center to help with children. I know many people who work there and have discussed my own children with many of them, and my own wife is in contact to work in this institution. They have integrity and professionalism.

terrible place more like a prison than any thing in my opinion there were code greens like every day the food was terrible i was on three south the staff aren't caring at all they would just sit on there phone and if u got mad or annoyed they would just give you thorazine which makes you fall asleep and then once you sleep through meals you would get an lop 3 (loss of three privileges) even though there is nothing to do there do not recommend it at all.

If I could give this wretched place zero stars, I would. I stayed here for one week last year. It was terrifying! At one point, they refused to let me call my family during calling times. They gave me a drug called Thorazine, that makes you sleep constantly. Then, when I slept through meals, they were angry at me, and refused to feed me! I have PTSD, and during a flashback, one of the nurses stood over me and attempted an exorcism. I reported her, and she called me a liar and yelled at me for quite some time. Ms. Candy, if you ever read this, you were the only one who kept me from more self harm, and I can't thank you enough. If only there were more people like you there! Everyone in the hospital got excited when she arrived, and would tell her how scared they were. I witnessed a twelve year old boy rip a camera out of the wall, and proceed to cut into his arm with it. He was clearly special needs, and where the nurses should've shown nothing but compassion, they told him he was an awful person, and that he deserved to be in pain. Please, please investigate them further. This place is terribly dangerous, and I have added flashbacks from Lakeland now that I have left.

Maybe you need to look in your medical records ... I did and they have not stopped doing this.

I was there for 21 days i never got fresh air never took a step outside! I was on 4 south and they kept it so cold that we would freeze and if we tried to put a hoodie on then we would get in trouble for layering which is on them because they kept it so cold. The staff never did anything but sit there on their phones if we asked them something we got in trouble for it! There were code greens everyday that i was there I was so scared there I thought I was going to get hurt! I was sick the entire time I was there! While I was there in 21 days I gained 6 pounds because I was told if I don't eat the food then they would get on to me and think I'm starving myself it was the worst thing ever! The whole time I was there I got a LOP (loss of privilege) one time because they tried to make us to go bed at 7 without phone call and showers I wasn't doing that so I got in trouble but never got into a fight! I stood up for everyone that day because they did us wrong!!!!!!

I spent about five months in integrity unit for depression, i can say it only got worse from the day i entered, the staff are verbally abusive to every patient. some more so then others. i went in expecting help but i can honestly say the issues that it caused are worse then what it fixed. i spent a year waking up panicking not knowing where i was or if my roommate was attacking me. the unit was horribly taken care of and roach infested, they actually put an 11 year old girl in our unit (Every patient was 17+ at the time) and her first night there a fight broke out and i got in trouble for telling her it was going to be okay. i dont suggest sending anyone to this place. its a prison like enviroment with heavy drug pushing.

I have been trying to get my daughter help for 5+ years, and finally thought I had found the place. Their website sounds perfect, and it was 100% misrepresented!! Pics don't show that it's in the ghetto, and they don't show the prison yard and now I know why they push for you to have your kid transported! Hell No!! I drove almost 200 miles for a facility that made me uneasy from the parking lot and all the way in. I left crying and sad for the children left behind in there. I told them I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I left my child there and that's not the worst. They had obviously made a huge mistake and tried admitting us to the Military Coed Unit. We are not a Military family, and we were told it was the all girl Serenity Unit, not Integrity Coed Military. Please do not send your child here!!! I saw about 10 children sitting In hard chairs holding pillows and looking like Zombies. My heart broke for them.. Plus, after reading the description of how they handle our militaries children as opposed to what I saw, I'm ashamed at the care they would and are giving to those protecting our country!! Let's get word out about this child prison!! They also say they have extensive therapy but told me they only see their therapist once a week!! I get that at home! They are babysitters who are allowed to medicate!!

Staff are abusive and incompetant. Poorly trained and only are skilled in verbally abusing patients. After spending 6 months interning here for college to be an RN I was disgusted. The doctors are quacks and try to heavily drug patients with anything they can and take no real consideration to the dangerous effects of of combining certsin drugs. Treatment has no effect and is only used by the lazy staff to keep the pstients under control. Many discharged patients relapse. Many escape and run away. Many are in prison now. Everytime an inspector came was the only time they put on enough of a facade to brinf things narely up to standards. Patients are kept inside most of the time in dark dirty units with no outside view getting only a couple hours a week outside at most. There are no programs for treating patients. They have chanhed their name twice already and resorted to using mostly fake images on their website of a different place. Patients are kept seated most days with no excercise and gain weight. 30-50 pounds average. Nurses refuse to properly deal with patients and instead use heavy doses of the outdated drug thorazine through injection. Staff are poorly paid as well the only 2 5 star reviews are fake attempts aby them to save their already bad PR. Many patients mental states go to worse having been in here with the overly long commitments. Medical care is severely inadequate. After coming back from an outside hospital for surgery any patients are refused much needed pain killers, anti biotics and IV drips by and overly egotistical doctor. Many insurance companies advise parents against sending children here and it is best you listen. Even springfields local paper did a small piece on the shameful"hospital"

My stepson had to go here a few years ago and he also gained alot of weight and said he never went out side. Also they had him on so much medication its a no wonder that they could handle him because he was so doped up. They finally called and said after 9 months we could come and get him because there was nothing else they could do with him. My daughter is 14 and in the court system and they are recommending her to go here. Guys i am so terrified of her going here knowing what i know. i do not think this is a good facility and i dont think its ran professionally. Looking over the comments and talking to others and plus my own experience with this place everyone is saying the same thing. Actually a 14 yr old girl i know that is there now and is out on medical leave was telling me how bad it was there and that shes scared that they would put my daughter on alot of medication. Barb your right they do not contact you and even if you talk to them they will lie to you you. It BS.. I have heard way to many bad stories about this place. i am more terrified now than i was before. Expecially that we are 2 hrs from this place.

My son arrived at Lakeland on August 29th 2014

Since has been thrown back and forth from day to day by different nurses and staff!! One day in yellow zone then the next day another staff member is saying he's still in stage red! Which is causing even more distress for my child!! We his mother and father are not being contacted in any circumstance with updates on what is going on with our son! One example...I call daily to check on him and I'm not being told what is going on with my son! Most often when I call it's the same, he's quiet and reserved, then we receive a call from our sons Lawyer telling us about an incident that had taken place! No call from Lakeland, no nothing, I his mother had to call myself and ask specifically what was going on and then I was told!! What on earth? How is this place even open!? Not one staff member (nurse) gives the same answer, same reason, same anything!!

Come to find out he's lost 5lbs since arriving!! He's deepening in depression!!

My son went 33 days without seeing the outside world, it took me showing up and requesting them to let him go outside to be able to see the sky, feel the sun shine down on him, feel a fresh breeze and smell the freshness!! Why are these "KIDS" being treated like caged animals!?? Adult prisoners in adult facilities are treated better than these poor kids!!

It's just unimaginable to me how this is happening and why!! I'm a mother of a child that is having to live in this facility of hell! Oh and I'm not at all happy! This is not where I will be stopping either!



Funny I read someone's post on here about this is a professional facility and even asks professional advice from these so called "professionals" I would love to ask you...has your son been put in this so called Professional place...no they haven't! So please explain to me HOW you can post anything at all without your own child staying in this place?

I know my child has done wrong but let me say that one more time....my CHILD!! Not an ADULT!! There have been a few staff members that I have thought a lot of but I'm darn surely questioning them now as well!! Completely and totally Disgusted!!! One of many more very upset parents!!!!

My son was abused my a staff member there and we went and got him it was on video and staff was suppose to b watching so either they let it happen or was not doing there jobs there r cameras in every room and I had to call on another phone while talking to my son and tell them to get up and stop his room mate from hitting him very disappointed with them after trying to get help

My son has been here for 3 months and have not helped one bit and have allowed him to gain 20lbs so that he is obese. A lot of other stuff as well. He's 12, I would not send you kids there!

All I know is that my 13 year old brother was sent here after sexual behavior issues arised after our father attempted suicide. I live in Michigan with my mother, and for some reason, my father, who I believe is the reason for my younger brothers issues is the only one allowed in contact with him. Nor I or my mother have been allowed to visit, my mom was able to speak to him only after she sent paperwork proving she also had shared physical custody of my brother, but when my father found out, she for some reason no longer could have access to my brother. It's been months since we've heard from Lakeland Hospital, she has called his Counselor many many times and left multiple messages, there has never been any return contact. My brother was ruined once put into this place, I don't know what goes on there, I don't know why they're so private, it should be illegal for them to keep things from our mother. I wouldn't suggest sending any child there, I simply do not trust them.
