TERRIBLE - Lake Area Disposal hit one of my parked cars then lied to their poor excuse of a "manager" that my (parked) car hit them! Surely, someone didn't want to lose their job 2 weeks before Christmas for hitting a car when his only job is driving! When I spoke with the so called manager, he began raising his voice, accusing me of being a liar, cursing at me and saying that this was "un-f'n-believable." Talk about defensive - hmm wonder why? At one point in the conversation, I had to actually ask him if he hears himself right now?!?!?!? Oh, and did I mention that I am one of their CUSTOMERS?!?!?!? If this is what he thinks customer service is then he is as dumb as he sounds on the phone! I will not only be pursuing my claim with their insurance company but I will be canceling my service with them effective immediately - even if that means paying more. Don't waste your time or money with this pathetic excuse for a company because they don't give a crap about you or your service needs, nor will they ever take responsibility for their wrong doings. PATHETIC!

Terrible customer service. Called to complain because men who pick up the trash simply throw your cans to the side of the road and in the street to get run over and destroyed. And who is going to replace the broken trash cans? Was told by the extremely rude woman that we need to find a new company because she doesn’t care. Called back to ask for a name and corporate number and spoke to a man who advised there’s nothing he can do. How is there nothing you can do for a paying customer? You can take our money though right? Spoke with the same woman again who said she doesn’t even care about or want our service. . Or anyone else’s for that matter. You’re better off going to WM. These people have terrible service, could care less about their customers, and are extremely disrespectful. I’m sure they’ll be out of business soon.
Absolute crooks! Just signed up three weeks ago and happened to be sitting at kitchen window when they came around. Watched them throw trash lid into yard and then basically drop can after emptying it and watch it fall over into the middle of the road. The guy just walked off and the car behind them had to drive around it. OK, first time and I let it slide. Next week same thing so called the office to ask that trash can be placed onto curb please. Owner was unbelievably rude, said his guys wouldn't do that, he didn't even know me, and basically called me a liar. I called back to cancel service and was told I would receive zero refund for unused service for the next 2 1/2 months. Bad service, refuse to acknowledge any mistakes, and then steal money for a cancelled service. How are these people even in service? I switched to Republic and they have huge recycling cans instead of Lake Area's tiny little plastic bins and they give you a bigger trash can than Lake Area will even pick up.
All I can say is this company is cheaper than republic a lot less! And they include recycling free with your garbage pick up republic does not . They did miss picking my garbage a couple of times at first but they took care of it right away. I'm happy so far . Terry
Great! I called to arrange pick up of a mattress & box springs. Rather than charge me the $30 for hauling the 2 items, she informed me that the City of Springfield will haul 3 items twice a year for free. Even gave me the city number & information. I appreciate their honesty!
Unbelievably terrible services.. they are unable to do their simple jobs and don't care to make it right when you cancel your service. And they charge a 15 dollar container pick up fee.. I'm taking the bins in myself and throwing them on the ground for these incompetent morons to pick up.. wait they don't know how to pick up trash at this company so I guess that won't work
They have failed extraordinarily at being a reliable service. I cannot remember the last time they picked up our recycling two weeks in a row. Generally we set it out, wait two or three weeks without them picking it up before calling them. Then it gets picked up but another three week cycle of ignoring our can begins and this has been going on for three years. We are looking for another company as I write this, we have had enough.
HORRIBLE phone manners! The women answering the phones are costing this waste hauler business. All I wanted to do was to pay my bills. I will not put up with the rudeness of these women again and will close my accounts.

I too have had issues with the waste service from this company. I was billed a $35 service interruption fee (for a $41.26 bill) for paying the bill during the 3 month cycle at the end of last year. The total amount I paid for Dec for 3 months of service was $85.75. I received a notification in the mail of the fee and paid what I owed because it was my mistake. Then I received the new bill. I paid it just before the new bill came out I sent the funds from my checking account in the amount of $55 and when I received the new bill for April - June service this bill is a whopping $142.50 OMG!!! utterly ridiculous. I was told that the $35 fee could be waived 1 time...LOL. I am not looking for a hand out or a one time favor. I want my billing done properly with no issues. And yes, since I have had service they have never picked up my recycling. I am sure I have had service almost a year now......I don't understand the issue. I do not want any favors, if your company makes a mistake, they should do the honorable thing and correct it....in stead of making it seem like you are doing your customer a favor.....
