These guys are great! They could have charged me to take a look at my car, but they didn't. Gary (I think he is the owner) told me he couldn't find anything wrong with the car. He told me what to do if the problem happened again (of course the car wouldn't act up for him). I asked him how much I owed for him taking a look. His response was "I'd love to take your money, but I can't because I couldn't find anything wrong with the car." I took it back the next week for an oil change and they looked at the car again so I would have peace of mind while schlepping the monkeys around. Gary only charged me for the oil change. After researching, it looks like others have problems with cars of the same, but it is something that is missed all the time (wiring issue). I'm definitely going back to Tuffy's when my car needs TLC again.

I had them do a break job on my Santa fe and they did a good job , that was 2015, today I needed break work on my 2007 freestyle and had them do it. I thought that it was a little high but they do a good job. If I have to have anymore work like that I will go there. They do seem to be honest and that's hard to find these days.

My regular mechanic was booked until Thursday so I decided to have my car towed to Ellenburg's I figured it would be either the starter or the alternator ( an easy fix). Later on during work I received a call from an Ellenburg’s employee. He proceeded to tell me that my guess was correct, it was my starter. He then went on to let me know that It would be $412.09 . I asked him to repeat the amount, just to be clear on what I had heard. I've made this repair before, and it was never that much. Once I got off the phone with Ellenburg's I called my usual mechanic and asked him for a quote on the repair. The range given to me by my usual mechanic was including parts was less than what I was told Ellenburg's charged for parts. I called Ellenburg's back and asked for a breakdown of the price and was told that the part itself was originally over $300, but because of a discount he gets it wasn't quite that much. He then went on to say that the rest was made up of taxes/fees and the $100/hour rate he charges. Apparently my questions about MY CAR upset the employee, who then threatened to revoke his imaginary discount and charge even more if I didn't "quit it". When I asked what he was referring to he said my" questioning him". I reminded him that I am entitled to ask about MY car. During his threat he mentioned that he gets his parts from O'reilly's Auto Parts and offered to give me the part number to verify, which he actually never did. I decided to take matters into my own hands and Not only check O'reill'ys online, but call into 3 of their stores( one of which was the specific store they do business with) and confirmed that the most expensive starter that ANY O'Reilly's carries, that would fit my car, only comes to $207.99 at the most. I was charged over $300 for a part that was less than $210. This is the same discounted part that he says list price was over $300 for. Furthermore, I have never heard of ANYONE ever charging over $400 just to change a starter.
