1.0 star rating 4/12/2017 My sister-in-law passed away on Monday. She was kept at home by her partner, who is a nurse. Our main issue, and it is unforgiveable, is that when her time was near, and she was in extreme agitation and discomfort, my sister called and asked for a nurse to be sent out. In response, they said to keep giving her the meds provided. When my sister asked, sarcastically, if they just wanted her to call when she was died, they said yes. There were 3 other witnesses to this conversation, two of which were nurses and friends of my sister. They could hardly believe the lack of caring or disregard for the situation. We could not believe that they had no intention of sending anyone out when her time was near. She passed away within an hour of the call. We were lucky that my sister and the friends there were nurses and knew what to do, but it is a different situation when you are caring for a family member. I am writing this review because I would hate for anyone without medical experience to have to go through this alone. That is what you can expect from this company. I suspect this is the way "for profit" hospice companies are run. We had used the hospice at UTMB for my father and grandmother and had nothing but praise for them.
