I had an MRI performed here and the image was so bad my specialist couldn't use it. However, it cost $1391 and after insurance I was left with a $376 bill.I've tried asking for a repeat scan or a waiver of the remaining balance and my results are a threat by them to send me to collections.
I FINALLY found an urgent care center that is great! The check in staff was great (Rose) and Christine the Triage nurse was great,,, but most of all the Doctor DR.Kenneth Googe was really great and actually took the time to listen to me as a PERSON and not just another number!!! I Unfortunately I can't afford health insurance, so I had to go to an Urgent Care Clinic (Care One closest to me ) only to get ripped off! (the Triage Nurse Charlie was GREAT! But the Doctor Was a waste of time, his 5mins of advice was for to go to the ER and would NOT even help me with Intense PAINS all over my body ) So I went to the ER at Oak Hill Hospital... ONCE again The Triage nurses were GREAT but the DOCTOR there was terrible. Rushed in asked me about ten questions like a robot and I did not see or hear from here until 4 hrs!!! later just to tell me my EKG was fine and the rest of my pains was because I was taking too much Ibuprofen for my pains !!!!???, and when I asked about my chest pain IF my EKG was good,,, what could be causing the other pains well she said that could be caused by "many things" but she did not know WHAT they may be !?!!!. THE truly amazing thing to me was when I was told by someone else there about how GREAT LIFEGUARD was,,, so I was still in alot of pain so I tried LIFEGUARD (thank GOD ! ) and I was extremely PLEASED how GREAT I WAS TREATED!!!
I feel that I would have been treated with more professionalizm if I had gone to Mcdonald's. When I walked in, I signed in for my daughter who is mentally and physically handicapped. The person at the desk asked me for id and my insurance card. I said the patient is outside and will be inside in a moment. They then continued to ask me for the id and insurance card a few more times to which I responded the patient is still outside. I asked if the facility had the capabilities to do a sonogram. She (the person at the front desk) said if you have a prescription. Really? I said I guess you don't understand the question, does the facility have the capability to do a sonogram? Again, like a machine she responded the same, but seemed to find humor in her rudeness. When my daughter stepped up to the counter, she said I am blank blank, the female at the counter said we already have a patient here with that name. My daughter again stated her name and said I am blank blank. Not sure if the female at the counter grasped the concept at this point or not. When my daughter came out from getting her mammogram she stated that they hurt her real bad. Under no circumstances would I or my daughter ever return to this facility and I have been receiving my mammograms from this facility for approximately 30 years.
The woman at the front desk was very congenial, nice. Unfortunately, the tech who does your mammogram is anything but. She was condescending, rude. Everytime I tried to speak, I was interrupted. I never finished a sentence. I'm in my 60s and have quite a few mammograms over the years. But I've never had anyone compress my breasts to the extent she did. It was almost as though she was deliberately trying to cause me pain. Horrible experience!
In response to Larry G. Shirley has been with us for over 10 years and has over 25 years of experience in X-Ray. Her patients lover her. You claim to be an X-Ray Tech with CT experience. I can't seem to find you in any registry. I love the fact that you think you know how to handle patients by saying you were an X-Ray Tech and Supervisor of a CT department. You should have know like any other X-Ray tech when Shirley was going to take the picture. You would have had plenty of time to leave the room. By the way, she stated that you were around the corner when she shot the picture. You obviously do not know what you are talking about and you are not what you claim to be, a X-Ray Tech. As for the way Shirley treated your wife, she is very kind and considerate to all her patients. She is not ever rude to anyone. West Hernando Diagnostic Center has been here for 28 years now. If we treated patients the way you say we do, then we would not be in business today. We see many patients during the day. To say Shirley was rude and did not know how to handle your wife is just uncalled for. Next time, stay out of the room. The X-Ray tech does not need your help or your input. You are not train in any way in X-Ray and your input is not required. Stop trying to be somebody that you are not.
Today I took my wife for an x-ray of her hips. For starters the doctor ordered an x-ray of her pelvis. He should have ordered an x-ray of her right hip. A pelvic x-ray does show the hips, but not as detailed as a hip x-ray focusing on the specific hip. I told this to the person at the front desk. You would think they would check on that. They didn't. But that's not the worst part. The x-ray tech, "Shirley" who would not give me her last name, did not have a clue what she was doing. Let me start a list: 1. She did not put a clean sheet on the table 2. I helped her get my wife onto the table. Take in mind my wife is a 53yr old woman who may have had a fractured hip and this women is asking her to move into position as if she were a twenty year old girl getting mad that she couldn't move. 3. This woman wanted my wife to move over to the center of the table and she couldn't understand why she couldn't move. I had to show Shirley how to put a sheet under her in order to slide her into position. 4. As I was walking to go into the booth where Shirley was, she took the x-ray with me still in the room. She should be fired for that alone. 5. She had to repeat the x-ray because it didn't come out right. 6. When trying to get my wife off of the table she wasn't going to use a stool. I had to tell her we need the stool because the table is too high. I was an x-ray technician and supervisor of a ct scan dept. for over 20yrs. in my opinion this woman does not have the knowledge of standard operative procedures for an x-ray tech. she should be either fired or her superiors should have her get the proper training. She claims she has been there for ten years. I think that is ten years too long. I spoke to the manager "crystal". what a waste of time that was. Does anybody at this facility ever check to see if these people know what the hell they are doing?There is one more thing i would like to add: The way this woman handled my wife was appauling. She did not take into consideration that my wife may have a hairline fracture of the hip. She could have turned a small fracture into a severe break. There is no excuse for this. And it is very possible that she may have made what ever is wrong, worse.
Had an Appointment on the 3 rd of June,for MRI. Got there on time ,about 15 min later came out said machine was broken. Asked me if I could come back on the 6 th of June I said ok. Wasn't there fault machine broke so went back on 6 th ,went to counter ,they say I don't have an appointment ,I say yes I do . She got kind of rude and said I think I would know. I said well you don't,and I showed her my appointment card .She said well we still can't see you and it would be a long wait for third appointment.i told her to give my script back ,said she would have to look for it ,I stood there and waited. I never once got an. I'm sorry or anything else .wont go back I'm easy to get along with but I'm disabled I'm on oxygen 24/7 and wasting time cost me in backacks ?
I have been in the medical field over 30 years. I went for a mammogram yesterday. The technicianlacked professionalism, was rude, wanted to do the mammogram in under 10 minutes. When I told her she was hurting my breasts because she was pressing the equipment fast and hard, she said "I don't understand", I repeated to her to slow down, to which she answered, "do you want to leave?". I answered no, finish up and slow down. She continued to say that she had been doing this for 20 years. Well guess what, its time to enter a new profession. She totally lacks compassion and bed side manners. I will never ever go back again.

After dealing with the caring and compassionate crew at Tampa's Tower Imaging for my mammogram and 2nd biopsy I was disturbed on my first visit to WHDC in Spring Hill. Not one staff member seemed to want to work or was unhappy to be bothered. No compassion, no kindness. I felt like a welfare case although I have good insurance and when I told the technician I just had a relative fighting this cancer she acted like what I said was of no importance. They refused to have me sign my release for the last mammo which would show my biopsied site for follow up and to make sure it has not changed. I want to report this entire location to a medical board but not sure who to report this to.
