I wish zero stars were an option. The Pony Express Lodge is infested with mold, roaches, and bed bugs. We had to stay for three months when I was out of work for an injury. They never gave us a key to our own door so we couldn't lock up while we were gone. The phone couldn't dial out - even for emergencies. We couldn't call 911 if we wanted to, and no one could call in to our room. They would only hear a busy signal. There was black mold in the walls and beneath the carpet that made us very sick.We had no access to hot water in either the sink or shower. The roaches were a constant nightmare. Even with the "preventative" spraying, they would come out of electrical sockets and holes that connected to other rooms. It was disgusting, we didntw feel comfortable keeping any food. The owner, GM, assistant manager and maintenance were all horrible. They swear at tenants, they have tried to refuse rental receipts on several occasions, they will not make repairs, and they are very well known for retaliation. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

This is a great place to stay for extend lodging. we have been there 3 time in the past 3 years. close to all freeways and walking distance to a local casino. They also have other locations all over Reno. Thanks
This place sucked, rude dirty and nasty management.the police raid every night because drugs, auto break ins and auto theft. There is prostitution going on.
Infested with bed bugs and cockroaches. Asked for towels and was told to wash the ones I had because I had to clean my room with them it was so dirty.
I have to say i needed a place to stay for about 10 days and they were the best rate and although it may not be the Ritz it worked out great. Thanks
I don't know what John D. is referring to, but there is just the one location in Sparks. It's pretty clean. They keep the outside picked up and the riff raff out, but it is run-down inside, the curtains aren't hemmed, the blinds are held together with twist-ties, the hot water has a color to it...that sort of thing. Managers are OK until you have a question, problem or complaint. Then, they forget that they wouldn't have jobs if not for tenants. Rude, rude, rude. Before I moved in, the manager swore to me that the wifi was fast and reliable--do NOT believe it. I haven't talked to a single (non-mgr.) resident who can reliably use it. I met several who pay Charter $60/month. Even though it's not the best part of town, and it's on a loud, busy intersection, I do feel safe here. If the staff were even somewhat polite, and if the wifi worked properly for me, I could overlook the rest and stay here for the rest of my time in Reno, but there's NO excuse for this kind of rudeness.
Took a look at the weekly's and the rooms haven't been upgraded in ages, the bathrooms were creepy enough!!! If you stayed there a month and depending on the room you stayed in, you were looking at $800 plus for ickyness.........
Horrible. Rude and professional management. No accommodations not even a ice machine. The rooms are dirty. do not stay here there are so many better choices in this area
Omgosh this place is so dirty, in there weekly and other rooms the floors were so dirty our feet were black as soon as we walked in. The first night we find out our room had no heat and they bring us a unsafe space heater. We then move to a weekly, where the beds were so old that they were almost folded in half, and stains everywhere, there was spider webs and ants everywhere. The shower looks like something from Bates Motel. Then they make you pay a deposit that they have no INTENTION of giving back. They said the room was dirty when we left, we had to clean it when we moved in and disinfect the whole place. Also right beside the building there was drug deals going down, some which went wrong so our 7 year old gets to hear all that outside our room. Next day she gets to see someone being arrested in the parking lot. I would never recommend this place. Stay at the Lexington Inn or Baymont. They dont charge any deposit and the rooms are clean. Staff is great. They got mad at me for telling them how dirty they are so they thought they would keep my deposit. They are a LOW RENT DIRTY PLACE. And when I say low rent I don't mean their prices. The only reason I gave them a star is because I had to.
