My friend recommended Wilson's after having his floors redone two years ago. After seeing the work they did, I had no reason to worry--it was a good job. But that is apparently no longer the case. I had Wilson's out to my home a month ago and I am pretty upset. To the point that I am not even trying to have them come and fix the job. They told me there would be 'some touch up' regarding the base trim and casing around the perimeter of my rooms, doors, and stairs. What I came to see after the stain was applied was comparable to what a 12 year old might be able to do. There was stain on a bunch of my new baseboard, casing, and all down my stairs. When I asked Jimmy why they didn't tape, or why he didn't tell me there would be this amount of repainting required, he said 'Well I did tell you there would be some touch up'. Yes Jimmy, you did. There is quite a big difference between some touch up, and you will be needing to repaint every piece of trim surrounding the floors we work on.That was complaint #1. #2 is that they either did not fill and sand gaps/scratches like they said they would, or they just did such a terrible job that I can't tell which. #3 is that when they came to do the first (or second) coat of poly, they must not have brushed or blown out there roller and now I have tiny hairs/fibers in the top coat of my brand new floors. Thanks Jimmy, and thanks to Wilson's for completely ruining what should have been a pleasant experience for both of us. I will be taking all my future business elsewhere.
Very professional, excellent work! I saw the donated work they did at Southgate Anderson High School (refinished the stage) and liked that they do excellent work AND give back to the community. My friends, family and neighbors all use Wilson's. While reading the other reviews, I, get the feeling that an unscrupulous competitor is trying to sabotage them.
I had many recommendations for Wilsons and we thought we were making a good choice, but this was one of the worst experiences that we have had with a home improvement project. The job was to remove the carpet in our living room and to refinish the living room and an upstairs bedroom. They then ripped up the carpet in a hallway that I specifically told them not to both verbally and via text. In the process of removing the carpet they also gouged our baseboards in multiple places. They then left the removed carpet and padding in our driveway after paying them $600 for carpet removal. They tried to rectify the situation by giving us $300 towards the cost of new carpet for the hallway and stairs, but the actual cost is $900. To top it all off they left half eaten food in our bedroom and there was no work being done in that room and therefore no reason for them to even be in there. I would not recommend this company to anyone, save yourself the trouble.
Very unprofessional. I contacted Jeff the beginning of September to get a room refinished. He gave me a date of Oct 1st. Never showed up, called once and was confused why I left him a message. After promising to get to the bottom of the issue and call me back, he never did. It's been 3 days and I've called multiple times with no reply.
I am very skeptical that the other reviewers have had their floors done by Wilson's Floor Sanding Service. Seems to me like a competitor may be trying to sabotage Wilson's credibility. All I can truthfully say is that I've had my floors done and have referred Wilson's to 2 other family members with exceptional quality, detail and professionalism. I am so pleased with the experience that I would recommend Wilson's to anyone that is looking to turn their existing wood floors into a million bucks.
This has to be the worst floor refinishing co. in Michigan.
