Not good at following instructions. Had my first experience with braiding here. Was quoted a price based on the size of braids that I requested. They did a larger braid stating that because my hair was shorter and had broken some, I couldn't get the small braids. I said that was fine. I told them that I had purchased a bun that I wanted to use and did not want the hair extensions to be used as a bun. I was told that the hair extensions were supposed to be long and that I could fit the bun on top. I asked several times that they do not make a bun from the extensions. (I wanted to be able to reach my scalp to scratch it or oil it if I needed to. I have itchy scalp and dandruff problems and wanted to be able to reach my scalp.) Instead they created a bun with the extensions and sewed the extensions together so that I cannot reach my scalp and I cannot fit the bun over it. When they finished, they charged me $20 more than the price that was quoted to me for the size of the braids that I got. I told them the price that I was quoted and they said that the person who quoted me the price told them that I was to be charged the higher price. I told them that the higher price was based on the smaller size braid and they argued with me. I finally paid them because I got tired of them yelling.) This may have been a communication error due to language barriers; but I would rather pay a higher price and go to a place where the quoted price and the ending price are the same. They were speedy and the quality was fine. Just not what I wanted but what they wanted.

I went to A Natural Affair on last Saturday for my big chop. My appointment was at 12, but I got a call just before 10 asking if I could come on in. I did inform them that I was just getting ready, and it was going to take me a while because I was coming from Southaven. However, I arrived about 15 to 20 mins after 11. It was still 12:00 before I was seen. The lady that washed my hair didn't take the time to do a good wash. It felt as if she just put the shampoo in my hair and washed it back out, put conditioner in it and put me under the dryer. I only made my appt. for the big chop because I didn't know what I wanted done, but I know I didn't want an afro. I decided to get coils, and Stephanie told me she had to see if she had time because she had another client. She did make the time after stopping on my hair to do the other persons hair. It was 4:00 before I left the salon. I love all the ladies in the salon, the atmosphere is great, I just feel like I shouldn't have been there that long, and especially since I came early, and to top it off I am still cutting relaxed hair off. That's what I went to the shop for! I will be returning because no business is great all the time, I just thought I would make them aware of the situation to keep it from happening in the future.
I went into the salon to with the expectation that it was going to be super luxurious based off the website and fb. When I got there I was shocked to find a one room salon with no spa like feel at all. My stylist was Kim. She gave me a good shampoo, although the chair was uncomfortable and there was shampoo in my ear the entire time. She did a flat twist and even while the hair was twisted it was cute. She did not take it down. When I went to pay, I was over charged by 15 dollars based on the price on the website. I will admit that my hair is cute, but not 55 dollars for a flat twist out cute. I would recommend the salon to anyone that is searching for a natural hair stylist, just be aware of mis information.
I had a wonderful experience! I received a consultation before my appointment, that allowed me to be educated about the current state my hair was in and they suggested options that would best fit my hair in its current state. My stylist was great and she styled my hair in a timely manner. I have been searching for a salon that caters to natural hair and I found this place. I am very pleased and I recommend this salon if you have decided to start your natural hair journey. The owner was fun and she made sure everyone was taken care of and interacted. She is avalible to her staff and gives positive energy to the clients. I will be scheduling again soon for services!!!!!!!
Great service! Relaxing atmosphere! Kim is the business, creative and knowledgeable. She styled my Senegalese twisted and the style was lovely. I had to go back and allow her to style my loose natural hair. I get the combination creation and have always been satisfied. I’ve witnessed the other stylists provide excellent and prompt service to clients with locs, transitioning styles, and big chops. All the stylists are friendly and down-to-earth. The products that they use are also available for sale. If you are natural, transitioning, or indecisive about going natural, I highly recommend you stopping by A Natural Affair Beauty Lounge and getting a consultation.
The good: If you are going for the natural loose hair style, this is the place for you. They do amazing styling and they are very knowledgeable about natural hair. The bad: The stylist are somewhat slow when working on a clients head. They rush theough the shampooing and conditioning sp much so that you dont get the feeling that you got a good shampoo. If you have traditional locs, this isnt the place for you. I got my locs retwisted while they were still dry and I dont feel the stylist are very knowledgeable about locs. This salon is more focused on loose hair and protective styling.
Visited the salon for the 1st time today, was about to go and get a Relaxer, but decided I wanted to try to go Natural. I called the salon, the owner was very pleasant on the phone, so I decided to stop by, she had left for a minute, but I felt very welcomed by staff. She came back and after speaking with her,a call would be given if someone came available. About 15-20 min later, I rec'd a call and had an appt in about 45 min.Stephanie rodded my hair ( transitional period) and I was very Pleased! Keep up the Good Work Ladies!!I Will Be Back!! Thanks, ,A Satisfied Customer!
I have been coming to Aisha's braid shop for a couple of years. Every style I have showed them has been duplicated to perfection. All of the sisters are experienced and fast. When I go there it doesn't even matter which one is selected to braid me up....each one is out right gifted. I have never lost a braid and my hair grows and grows and grows. They make sure u are comfortable and super nice. I recommend this braid shop to all of my family and friends and I will continue to go everytime I want my hair braided. Aisha's African Braid Shop is the #1 braid shop in Memphis!!
I came to ms. Kim last year and most of my hair had been broken off from perm and just wrong salons. When I came here I found a beautiful person who knows and loves hair ! She is a amazing at what she does. After almost a year and a half my hair has grown almost 4 inches and much thicker. She does great presses if you want natural. She also does gorgeous sew ins to help grow out your hair. I even kept up mine for 6 months ! You just have to keep up with it ! I would highly suggest coming to enchantment beauty salan with Ms. kim Owens !
The shampoo girl was kinda lazy, she did not was my hair worth craps. Next the young lady that did my hair did not do what I asked her to do. The hair style turn out good but I want what I want for $70 in this economy. I wish the stylist had have accessed my hair to see if it needed an dandruff treatment or a trim at least. Also, she was really rough with my natural hair. As a stylist specializing natural hair rule 101 is that natural hair is fragile and must be handed with care.
