General Info

Our Specialty is beautiful fresh flower arrangements of diverse design, individually customized to enhance the environment for which they have been created. We have been serving our community since 1982. Our staff of designers has been chosen because they are gifted artists and talented craftsmen. Barbara Thran-Anderson, the owner of Thran's Flowers is recognized for her accomplishments on a local and national level. She has received a number of awards in the floral industry, as well as having done work for celebrities, a major motion picture and numerous national corporations. Her work has been featured at national floral symposiums, design shows, demonstrations, magazines, and on television. She was also chosen to design for the 1999 Academy Awards and President Bush's Inauguration, both in 2001 and 2005. Katie Long, daughter of Barbara, has been active within the family floral business all her life and manages the day-to-day activities at Thran's Flowers. Since learning the art of floral design under the influence of National and International Master Designers, she was inducted into AIFD (American Institute of Floral Designers) in Orlando in July 2000. She was invited to do her first International design show in Canada in April 2000. She also had the opportunity of being a featured designer in AIFD Across America in 2001. In July of 2002, she was asked to design her first solo show for AIFD symposium in San Diego. The show was themed "Weddings with a Twist" which showed a twist from the traditional wedding bouquet. She also had the pleasure to be on President Bush's Inauguration team, with her mother, in 2005.

Reserve Your Wedding Day A deposit in the amount of $250.00 will reserve your wedding. This deposit is non-refundable and goes towards the payment of your wedding flowers. You can make this deposit anytime, but as soon as you know all your vendors, make sure you put down a deposit to insure a spot on the calendar. Find Your Floral Style Discover your floral style by searching through wedding magazines, wedding books, and internet sites. We recommend that you photo copy or tear out these pages to create your own floral portfolio. Consultation to Discuss Design and Floral Vision We recommend that you make an appointment with one of our specialist to discuss your floral vision three to six months prior to your wedding date. Be sure to bring your floral portfolio along with any dress swatches or pictures of dresses to your meeting. At this time we will write up a customized quote. Please make an appointment several weeks in advance. Due to a high number of weddings, we can only take a few appointments in a weekend. We are closed on Sundays for appointments. Final Consultation This consultation can be over the phone or in person. This is a final review of your wedding day decor and timeline. Final payment is due two weeks prior to wedding date.
