Founded in 1991and located in South Lake Tahoe, Calif., the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe is a nonprofit organization that offers a variety of programs for youths between the ages of 5 and 18. It provides art, leadership development, fitness and recreational programs. The organization additionally offers programs in career and life skill development and stress management. It provides the Power Hour program, which includes homework assistance and tutoring services. The organization also offers community service projects and organizes special events for program participants. It offers a variety of fitness activities that include basketball, soccer, golf, tennis, baseball and flag football. The organization also offers Smart Moves and Girl Power programs. Its art programs enable youths to develop creativity through the knowledge and appreciation of crafts and creative writing.
