I bought my dog from the South Elgin location on August 28th, 2008. I have had nothing but a sick puppy. I was told that she had a slight cold, and she would be better in a couple of days. They sent me away with some medication. I brought the puppy to the vet 2 days later, and she was put on medication again. About 3 weeks later her coughing and sneezing was still a problem but now she started with a weezing sound. We brought her back. The doctor put her back on another medication, and suggested "Nebulizing Treatments". I had to bring her to the vet two times a day, for a total of 11 days. Im calling on Monday because she's still weezing. Being at the vet that much I would talk to people that would bring their puppies in and ask where did you buy them and what was wrong with them. It's very SAD to say that 90% of the dogs in that vet had the same problem, and were also there for "Nebulizing Treatments." Sounds like to me something is wrong. In the million visits to the vet I became aware of the fact that it looked like her eyes were more squintie than normal. Every morning she would wake up and rub her face, and her eyes were always squinting, but being a new puppy, and learning her habits I didn't know. Well it turns out, after spending $466.50 on eye medications and $314 on an eye specialist her tear glands don't work properly. Petland was responsible for paying for her respitory treatments because they were exsisting. I called your South Elgin, IL store and informed them of this problem and wanted them to take care of the eye doctor cost because it's an EXSISTING CONDTION. The owner was rude, and very unhelpful. He never returned my call, and when I finally did in touch with him,(Tom) he said it wasn"t his problem, and insinuated that I was keeping her from getting better. I only wish to get my money for the doctors bills. I even asked just for what I paid for her. I think it's only fair. $360! I have to bring her back to the Eye Specialist on November 24th. If the problem persists she will have to be on eye drops for the rest of her life. Not to mention bringing her to an eye specialist is about $200-300 just to get in. Right now I have to put 2 kinds of medication in her eyes four times a day. I have had dogs my whole life, but have never gotten one like this. This saddens me that they are selling sick puppies!!! Don;t go here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
