Ghastly!!!!!! 5 weeks later, having paid up front to get 1 pair of boots re-healed and soled and the other the sole just stuck-job not done ! After 4 weeks after numerous calls to Sergio and Katarina( the incredibly uncooperative woman in the Ironwood Rd store) I got one pair back, with glue all over them-what a mess! Was told lie after lie about where they were ;why they weren't ready etc. Could never give me any clue as to when they might be ready( was told a week).Eventually told the woman I would stop by and pick them up the 2nd pair to take them somewhere else-still doesn't have them-more lies!!!!! Makes NO effort to solve the problem /call the cobbler etc, just keeps saying"I'll call you when they're ready". Think they're lost my boots! She doesn't seem to think it's a problem at all to have to wait 5 weeks to get a simple repair done and..pay up front. No business sense whatsoever, and couldn't care less.
I recently took my boots to Tony's to replace the heel tips. I was expecting to wait while this simple task was done. I was told to pay $7.50 in advance and pick up 3 days later. With reservation, I paid and left my boots with Tony's assistant, all the while she complained about the previous landlord where the shop was located. Four days later, my husband went in to pick them up, presenting the ticket I had been given. Not only were they not completed, they couldn't be found. My husband was told to return a few days later at which time, they would have found and repaired my boots. Two trips and 7 days later, I had my boots back, but this simple repair was unexpectedly atrocious. The heel tips were larger than the heel, misshapen, and not secure. In fact, while wearing them, the tips would twist around and become misaligned. We took them to another shoe repairman who said the tips were the wrong size and not affixed properly. Moral of this story: Tony's new location may be nice but his work is disappointing. The wait is too long, with respect to the complexity of the task. The other shoe repairman remedied Tony's botched job while my husband waited. He also put on the right-sized tips and they remained in place.
