Owner Madeline Black is a nationally know leader in the Pilates Method of Conditioning. Her experience in the fitness and health industry dates back to 1988. During her tenure, she developed curriculum for certification prgrams in Pliates, currently taught around the country. And she founded the first Pilates Studio in the Bay Area, A Body of Work, San Francisco and now directs its sister studio in Somoma, California. Madeline's early Pilates studies were with teachers who worked with Jospeh pilates, such as, naja Cori, eve Gentry, Romana krysanowska. her stongest influence in her studies were Anna Schmitz, Jean Claude west, Irene Dowd and Marika molnar PT. She is currently studying Integrative Manual Therapy wit Dialogues in Contemporary Rehabilitation, the work of Sharon Weiselfish, PT Phd. Madeline has uniquely integrated her years of body exploratins into a comprehensive approach to teaching people to move with strength, health and ease.
