Immaculata High School, located in Somerville, N.J., is a private, Catholic coeducational day school. Founded in 1962, the school was built by the parishioners of Immaculate Conception Parish, and serves the needs of the populations of Somerset, Hunterdon, Middlesex and Warren counties in New Jersey. It enrolls more than 900 students, and offers classes from grades nine through12. It integrates a challenging academic curriculum with Christian values rooted in Catholic tradition, while providing activities that promote spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and social growth. Its core curricular areas include English, religious studies, mathematics, social science and science. The school encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities as part of their development, and offers opportunities in cheerleading, sports council, yearbook, safety patrol, choir and sports programs, that include football, volleyball, basketball and softball. Immaculata High School was recognized by the Department of Education in the Blue Ribbon Schools Program as a recognized school of excellence.
