We tried this restaurant for the first time on November 7. This is located in Smyrna village square. Parking is not easily accessible.
We were there for an event. The service was slow, very slow. When we did receive our food, it was cold. We had the tossed salad and the fried green tomato with jalapeno pimento cheese topped with a small amount of greens and a tomato chutney. The salad was overdressed. The tomato was delicious, but I would have loved to see more than one slice. Dinner was brisket macaroni and cheese, and vegetarian lasagne. The food was cold. I got my macaroni and cheese replaced, but the lasagne was cold and a mess. The portion size for the macaroni and cheese was small. Not good eats.
I have always enjoyed my time at Atkins Park Tavern... the ambiance is great. It's not dark like Ormsby's (it's sister property), but it does have an old world feeling with a great patio. It's located in Smyrna Market Village which is darling in itself, so this restaurant fits in perfectly. It's one of the best local spots to check out in Smyrna!
Atkins Park has wonderful modern southern cuisine including several New Orleans inspired dishes. The service isn’t the best but the food definitely makes up for it. If you’re a big cocktail person, be prepared to give instructions to the waiter. I’d advise sticking to just beer and wine. They also host an annual crawfish festival each Spring which is a lot of fun and not to be missed.

Four stars for the atmosphere, 2 stars for the food.
I have eaten here twice (with a group) and have been completely underwhelmed.
The 2nd time I thought I would play it safe and get a burger. Who can mess up a burger?
It was dry as a bone, over cooked, and there was a fair amount of gristle.
I didn't finish it.
None of my friends ooh'ed and ahh'ed over their food either, so I can't figure out why so many people love it.
The restaurant itself is nice and enjoyable.

My husband and I thought Atkins was a great place! The atmosphere was relaxed and the food was awesome. I got their special BLT and my husband got there buffalo chicken sandwich. Both were excellent, but what topped the experience was our dessert. It was a phenominal warm apple stuffed pastry on top of vanilla ice cream and swimming in caramel. Definitely save room for this! We highly recommend Atkins.

Went to Atkins Park for the first time this weekend with family visiting from out of town. We all loved the food- especially the mussels, pueblano queso, jumbayala, and burgers. We sat on the porch which was covered and heated and very comfortable despite the chilly temperatures. We will definitely return for the great food, drink specials, and relaxing atmosphere.

Smyrna is on an upswing right now, and Atkins Park Tavern is at the helm. Going out on a Friday night with friends here is a real pleasure. The food is delicious and exceptionally prepared, and the service has never let us down. Whether you order just a burger or a full entree, you will not be disappointed. My favorite entree is the Boursin Filet, and for lunch I love to get the Shrimp Po-Boy. This is DEFINITELY a place worth looking into if you are around Smyrna and looking for a great time and great food. I like to take clients for lunch here as well. Definitely recommend it, don't miss out!
