The Public Works Department controls and maintains facilities and systems in the City and Borough of Sitka in Alaska. It serves citizens, businesses, institutions and visitors. The department operates engineering, building maintenance, solid waste management, and water and wastewater divisions. The Public Works Department maintains airport, marine services center and Sawmill Cove Industrial Park. The Public Works Department s building division promotes and assures safe building design, construction, operation and maintenance.
