Upon entering this restaurant, the aroma of fresh chinese food hits you immediately. you are promptly seated and waited on immediately. The appearance is very clean and the atmosphere is really relaxing. However the restrooms appeared as if they were in need of attendance. This restaurant serves 3 hot buffet tables and one cold one. The variety and selection of food is awesome. The buffet tables are exceptionally clean and the flavors of all the different foods are mouthwatering! They have a mongolian grill that also boasts cleanliness and outstanding flavor. The staff in this restaurant are exceptionally friendly and the service is second to none. The price was average, however with all the selections of food it could be considered a pretty good value. If you are in the mood for authentic asian food at a great price, huge selection, great atmosphere and exceptional service, then this is the place for you! You will not be disappointed by any means!
It's perfect, Nice atmosphere, GREAT TASTING food, GREAT SELECTION OF FOODS. Keep up the good work owners but so far after eating at this restaurant I have not been ill let alone with all the other people whom eat there so good work in my books great tasting food and I haven't been sick yet and I've eaten there about 5 times in most times were different months of the year. Even had eaten here during the months of Nov,Dec, Jan and Feb and not had got sick. Very fun place to eat if you are also into people watching a lot of different cutlers of people enjoy this restaurant as well. Keep up the good work, I don't want to find anything that I shouldn't find in my food here. Thank you so much. Please keep you're business open forever lol. Ps Also try this restaurant on a holiday, This restaurant on Easter had around 30 times more.
I travel a lot, and I eat at a lot of sushi restaurants, and Sushi Masa right here in little ol' Sioux Falls is the second best I've ever eaten. The best was right on the warf in Vancouver - tough to beat. Sushi Masa consistently produces fresh, delightful dishes. The prices are better than almost all sushi restaurants I've tried. For their lunch special you can mix and match from many menu items. The special is $8.50 which seems like a lot for lunch, but for sushi it's a great deal, especially considering the healthy portions. I have one complaint; Now that the secret is out, after several published reviews, it is consistently crowded, making a wait the rule. The answer? Call ahead for carry out! Same great food, but sans the intimate atmosphere.
After eating at the China Star I was less than impressed. The food is of poor quality. Yes the selection of food is expansive, but will that matter if All the food is bad? Plus the facility always reeks of seafood. I can appreciate seafood as much as the next person, but the whole place smelled a deceased fish. The wait staff is kind, and is willing to help. I found it challenging that they cannot speak English well, this hindered my experience because I got the wrong kind of soda 3 times, and also because I was mis-charged due to the communication barrier. If you're into a cheap buffet with lots of crappy food, and being over charged, by all means give it a shot.
The "China Star", now known as "Jumbo Buffet" has really went down hill. We went here a lot in the past, but the cleanliness of the facility, and quality of the food has just gotten horrible. I do have to say they have some of the best crab rangoons though! ..They should also throw out their ice cream machine. By the time you get to your table, it will be nothing but liquid. ALSO: My fiance got very sick (puking) from eating from their Mongolian bar once. I'm not sure how fresh they keep everything on the bar. We won't go here ever again. Our new favorite is the Hibatchi Grill & Supreme Buffet on 41st. YUM!
We have been eating at the Ming Wah for Chinese food since I was a child. I refuse to eat any other Chinese food. I've tried so many different restaurants, all over the tristate area. In fact, when I was still dating my husband, he vowed to me that he hated Chinese and wouldn't eat it. But I took him there, he reluctantly tried it, and now loves it. It's very traditional style Cantonese dishes. Not to mention a fair price on good American cooking. I recommend the Chicken Fried steak, or the Friday steak special. Parking can sometimes be challenging, but please give them a try.
Just moving here from the West coast, I was really thinking that I would never have good sushi again! Everyone in town said Sushi Masa was the best, so my husband and I gave it a try, not only was it bad sushi is was dark and gloomy! Tokyo was even worse!! Coco palace was our next and final stop- and I was completely shocked, this was very good for Midwest sushi- at least they had smoked salmon!!! I would recommend Coco Palace to anyone visiting Sioux Falls and missing the coast!!
I am a die hard Jumbo Buffet fan.. I honestlynow say I WAS a die hard Jumbo Buffet fan. Went to the Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet place last night for my birthday.. It... was... AMAZING!! $10 and you get chinese, japanese, american, sushi, grill, prime rib, lots of seafood, a drink, and a fun atmosphere. <3 <3 <3 it!!
We have been here twice, and will definitely go again in the future. Lots of food choices & always fresh. The place is kept clean & looks fancy for a "Chinese" restaurant. The parking lot is always packed, so you might have to drive around awhile until a spot opens! Highly recommend this place!
The food was great, the service was not. Went there with my daughter and I had almost finished my meal before they brought hers to her. When I tried to get the waitress's attention to let her know we didn't have all of all our food she didn't seem to care and said our food was coming. No apologies.
