Very rude and act like you are taking up their time. They act like they don't want to help and are always on phones.
I made an appointment a last week for this afternoon. The appointment was at 2:00 pm. I dropped it off at 1:30. He said it would be about 2 1/2 hours. I am from out of town, so I walked across to the mall to kill time. Walked back over at 4:00 and the car was where I had parked it. I thought it was done early, turns out it hadn't been touched. They said another 2 hours. I said no. Got my keys backed and walked out. Terrible customer service. They lost $400+ sale today. Would not recommend.
I just installed a stereo in my truck by myself, it shorted out so brought it their to just have them fix it quick. The stereo was already pulled out and everything, the guy fixed the issue and asked if I wanted him to put it back in. I figured well it'll only take five minutes to connect the harness and put the three screws in, but I asked how much it would cost. Haha he told me $100, I couldn't believe it and I said that I will just do it. So before I left the parking lot I spent 5 minutes plugging in the two wires and putting the three screws back in and it was free. And I did it right in front of them. I can't believe they even said $100 to do that. Any company that values it's customers would have just plugged in the two wires and put the three screws in for free. I am still just dumb founded by this whole deal I can't believe it.
I had an automatic start installed into my car about 2 years ago at Audio Playground in Sioux Falls. Since then I have gotten a new vehicle and wanted to transfer the auto start into my new vehicle and I had also moved to Rapid City. I called around local businesses in Rapid to look at possibly just buying a brand new one to save myself the hassle of driving back to Sioux Falls to get this done. To do a brand new one it would cost $300+ so I called Audio Playground and explained to them my situation and asked how much it would cost to have it re-installed into my new vehicle. I was told $125-$145 with tax and I asked them if I would need to buy any extra parts or anything for my new vehicle (I gave them my old vehicle model/make and my new vehicle's model/make) and they said no, that since I had a 2004 before it was new enough to just transfer it to my new vehicle. I made an appointment for this last Saturday and drove all the way from Rapid City (5 hours!!) to have this done. My mom had to drive my old car(which is now my brother's car) in and I drove my new vehicle. Once they had taken out the sensor and all of the wiring from my old car (which cost $26) they said that if I wanted to transfer the auto start into my new vehicle that I would have to purchase a $100 module part and my total cost would end up at around $300 (DOUBLE what I was told on the phone.) Weird that after they had already taken out the auto start they just magically realized that I would have to purchase this part that I was told I wouldn't need when I had called before. I told them I could have stayed in Rapid City and just purchased a brand new one for that price. So I asked them to put it back into my old car so my brother could use it and I would just buy a new one in Rapid. They said that it would be another $100 to install it back into my old car. Why would I pay $126 to be in the same predicament as when I came there?! Obviously, I went home and everyone that I talked to about this said we got seriously screwed over. I went back later that day to speak with a manger because I felt very taken advantage of. The owner/manager of the store is a JOKE!! Along with the older guy. It was literally a gang up, I was being yelled at by the both of them. There was literally no reasoning with any of the employees. They didn't care that I drove 5 hours for this appointment, they didn't care that I was told TWICE it would cost me between $125-$145 total, and they certainly didn't care about what I thought. I have never felt as disrespected in my entire life. DO NOT GO HERE, YOU WILL GET SCREWED OVER!!! Yes, it might be cheaper initially, BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!! ****I have literally never had a worse customer service experience in my entire life, I have never written a review on a business until now and if this saves even one person the trouble of what they would go through at Audio Playground, then it was worth it!****
WON'T GO ANYWHERE ELSE!Dashboard is very professional and very reasonable. Came in to get my self pre installed sound system taken care of by hiding the sub power line and not only did they take care of that, but the also rerouted my interior LED's and hid everything i couldn't!!! BUT WAIT!! The best part is that since it was pre installed, they worked with me but showing me step by step of what they were doing, asked questions on if thats how it would work for me and kept me in the loop the entire time. THEN! The original price of instalment is (dont quote me) $80ish, but only charged me $53!!!!!!! By far stole me from Audio P. and i have every intention of returning to these guys for more business VERY soon. Thanks Guys and keep up the excellent work!!
I would not recommend this place to my friend or even an enemy. I received very poor service by the manager Torin. He was very unprofessional not any help and did not fix the problem his installer failed to do. Billions was the one that originally took my vehicle there for a stereo install and when I got my vehicle back the wires where not fully connected so my back speakers would not work. F- rating poor to no servicerude managementproblem not fixed or resolvedpoor quality work
I have been there a lot over the last few months. They have been honest and helpful every time. The minute I walk in they are asking if I need help and returns are taken back without question. I went to APE and they tried to charge me $300 more for the same sub/amp/wiring kit than Karls waanted. Installation costs are the exact same price as Best Buy. You get quality workmanship and they back their work.
