Management is the worst. The off site manager thinks himself a bit of a bully. He was unpleasant from day one and loves to argue, that is, if he answers or returns your calls. Many times he just ignores you like the trash he perceives you to be. Innovative must be aware of his lack of people skills because you don't meet him until after you have signed your lease. The VASH property (3113 W. 12th) is neglected and every floor has a different rancid smell. They are finally re-painting the hallways, but the carpets are rotten. I hear tenants on the 3rd floor have bed bugs and have had them for months and that management is fully aware. But the rest of us have not been notified and had to hear about it from other tenants. Terrible properties, terrible management. Stay Away.
They lie in their contract about what they pay for. They feel that they can come in your house when ever they feel and they send their maintenance people out with out 24 hr notice at 8pm. This place is terrible do yourself a favor and avoid them like the plague!
Horrible!!!! Management cares about nothing but money. Does not listen to concerns. Golden Valley is dirty, dirty, dirty. Feces all over the premises. I complained numerous time to management and they did nothing. Children left chicken bones, toys, garbage up and down the hallways. The apartment was dirty and broken things when I moved in. They city even cited them for the feces all over the property and garbage everywhere and they did nothing. I broke my lease due to unlivable living conditions and now they are trying to sue!!!! Money hungry slumlords! I have pictures of all the feces I took on the property. I couldn't let my son go play in the yard or open my windows. Negative star rating!!!!
Failure to respond and resolve basic complaints that involved the safety and quality of life in the rental house. Rental house started in June of 2014 and ended in October of 2014. There were no follow ups to our complaints regarding safety issues with the state of the home (shorted live wires hanging in the home, spraying yard with chemicals with no warning, broken tree branches over power lines in the yard) . Abruptly the house was put up for sale which broke the lease and put us out of a home without notice right before winter. The lack of ability in them to manage and communicate with the reality company made us unable to live peaceably and comfortably in the our house. Charisma Properties then became hostile and threatening regarding our lack of availability to be around more than twice a week to show the home. The strain in the relationship with the rental company resulted in them withholding most of our deposit unfairly. Absolutely the worst management of our deposit, and no follow up with our complaint. I have no interest in speaking or dealing with them again and would advise strongly to anyone seeking services with them to look elsewhere.
We filled out an application to rent a house approximately two weeks ago. Our application was accepted after our credit and background checks. We wrote them a check for the security deposit the following day. On Friday we were told that we could move in on Monday after we made the payment for first and last months rent. We called the property manager to make the payment on Monday at 8am and we were told that they rented the house to another tenant! My lease is now over and I have nowhere to live. Thanks Charisma! UPDATE 1 and 2 at the bottom. We've been in a home for almost a week and already regretting renting from this company. I should have known by the way we were treated by the leasing person that it was going to be bad. The house we rented is cute and we love it. We're happy with the type of home we chose. Aplus is ok if we do some cosmetic updates like remove ugly wallpaper and paint which I will be doing. Then, we move in and notice that two of the bedrooms have nails and tacks sticking out of the carpet because while walking around barefoot my son and I step on them. My 3 year old son and I have cut our feet. The carpet is extremely dirty and looks like it was never cleaned. I emailed Rose, who we were told who was the owner of the home but really isn't, to let her know that the carpet is very bad, that tacks are sticking out resulting in cuts on our feet and needs to be replaced. I offered to go in on half of the cost since we will be in the home for at least 2 years and I even went out of my way to contact several companies to get quotes. I got a quote for about $500 so that means we each pay around $250. Not a bad deal at all.I knew they'd go in on this because I've talked to the other tenants around us, one of which is a co-worker, and she has done this before. She has reimbursed tenants for work they do and has gone in on the cost on some things. The wallpaper removal, painting, refinishing the bathtub (which is unusable) and re landscaping the front yard are all coming out of my pocket so to ask for half of the cost of the carpet is very reasonable. So far my correspondence with Rose has been the same as with Samantha. Short, cold and unprofessional. Once we move in they don't give a crap about you. She refuses to go in on the cost of the carpet. So our options are we pay for it ourselves or avoid using the 2 main level bedrooms. Neither are ok. We have a legal right to a safe dwelling and it's their responsibility to fix things like this.I'm stuck in a lease and dealing with these people but I would never ever recommend them if you want things done. I've heard nothing but terrible things from the neighbors around us about this company and more online reviews are needed to let them know that their services is terrible. Granted, it's been a week but I am pissed. With the updates I am doing to this house I expect to get my deposit back in full and they will be going in on new carpet. I have an attorney who will make sure of that!If you're looking for a rental home, I suggest going elsewhere unless you're ok with working with people who are difficult and really don't give a crap about you and your family. Just my advice that I hope changes over time. :)If things change for the better, I will edit this review with an update... :)UPDATE: Rose, the landlord, came by to look at the carpet and she then realized how bad it is after seeing it. They're replacing the carpet in one room and cleaning the rest of the house. I am happy now that she has realized I was not over exaggerating the awful carpet.UPDATE 2: They screwed us out of a couple hundred dollars. They treat other tenants better than others (play favorites). They lie. They don't give a crap about their tenants. They also don't care what kind of people they allow to move in. Our new neighbors are disgusting. I've been here a month and I hate it. I may try to get out. I've rented my entire life and I've never had problems with a management company before. This is the worst management company I've ever known. I've talked to a couple people directly and they've told me similar stories. Don't rent here. It's not worth your time or money! The review below says it perfectly! "Rose is a disgrace of a business owner. A women of her age should be HONORABLE not a LYING money hungry RAT!" She cares nothing about you or the home. Just about money.
I notice a negative posts here, but our experience with A Plus has been nothing but positive. We rented two homes with them over a span of three years and their agent Samantha went above and beyond to get us into the right home. If there was a problem, they were quick to respond, even fixing items prior to our arrival. Speaking directly to the previous poster; our deposit checks were always returned quickly and in full, but we left our house spotless, fully cleaned, and operating at LEAST as well as when we moved in. I'd highly recommend them for responsible, reasonable, real people looking for a quality home in a good neighborhood.
