DISAPPOINTING DOESNT COVER THIS REVEW. I really never have written a review as most of you like myself have good experiences and would like to be positive but this is a MUST READ. DONT TRUST FACEBOOK REVIEWS AS THEY ONLY POST THE ONES THEY LIKE/Now that I have researched after the fact on Google reviews and know on YP....wow do your homework on these people. I went to the Simsbury store and got some samples before labor day 5/29/17. I was told by Bill (who was extremely nice)to contact Sandy "the manger" on Tuesday. Well I did. Left 4 messages. I went to the store on 6/1/17 since I couldn't get a return call to bring back the samples. I asked Sandy if she got my messages. Answer "Yes 4 of them". Why didn't you return them, it isnt polite. Sandy says I will be right with you I'm on the phone. Mind you the Store is always empty! Sandy came back and stated "You can leave". OHHHH MYYYY is that customer service.I was looking at other samples in her absence. I called Kevin the owner in Granby. Of course he defended her "she is my best employee", that may be so..but not my experience. Without even talking to her the Owner of Action carpets say this WOW...so the Customer is wrong as cant give input... I said I would like to do business ...do you want my business, he said NO!!!! With the competition you can do better in the area!!!! ... and get respect as well. Their installation price is very high shop around the area..... and the price for the initial carpet I was quoted by Bill was even higher as I called MOHAWK to tell them this retailer isnt doing them any favors..... Guess business is good ...SHOP AROUND!!! ACTION CARPET RESPECT CUSTOMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lost my business and anyone I can tell.

Great Work...

First, supporting locally owned small business people is important to me. If there are any issues thereafter, I can let them know. I grew up in town so I know many of the business owners.



On November 3, 2010, when our basement hot water heater severely flooded our familyroom and computer office, I felt paralized. The Travelers Claims Adjuster who came the next day in pouring rain was empathetic. He helped me focus on shopping for carpet as I was knee deep in memories with my kid's art portfolios that had been water damaged. I had a huge mess to dumpster or have placed in a temporary storage pod. It was a thirty-day nightmare, six-week undertaking.



I stopped at a few places for samples -- starting with Sandy. I called a TV ad carpet guy who was to have me sign up for a lesser grade. Fortunately, my daughter phoned

at that moment and saved me. Her friend was in the carpet business in another state. I credit her with sparing me the purchase of a lesser grade 9% nylon that looked similar. Kevin with Action Carpet offered the best deal: quality carpet, excellent installation, no hassel. I selected a 14% nylon berber carpetting similar to the former carpetting, with warmer colors. I selected a quality foam pad underlay.



Although the order was delayed, I was able to tile the storage areas that have no traffic. The carpet installer team came in. Like magic, the room was fully restored on November 30. Installers Steve, Joe & Dan did a 1st class job.



I highly recommend working with Kevin and his team.

My wife and I were interested in purchasing Armstrong vinyl flooring for our small kitchen and visited the Action Carpet showroom in Simsbury. The sales rep suggested that the owner come to our home to take measurements and provide us with a free estimate.
Kevin came to our house and gave us an estimate that was higher than I expected and I called another company for a quote.
Action followed up with high-pressure phone calls for our approval to order the materials. We told them that we had not yet made up our mind and would call them when WE were ready.
Kevin called me a few days later and amazingly told me the materials had been delivered and wanted to know when he could do the installation.
I was incredulous at this and told him I had not approved any work and had scheduled another quote. At this, he lost his temper and rudely hung up on me in mid sentence.
I rarely write on-line reviews but I was stunned by the lack of courtesy and professionalism of this company and felt compelled to alert fellow consumers. STAY AWAY FROM ACTION CARPET!
