#1 Sushi

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place!!! Best sushi ever... (and I lived in Japan for awhile)

Premier Japanese Restaurant in the Kitsap County

This is the main Japanese restaurant most local "Japanese restaurant" are trying to mimic. With veteran long time Japanese owner, this restaurant is highly respected in Kitsap County and serves the best Japanese food in the county. You'll frequent see Japanese people dining here.... a sure good sign that you are at a good Japanese restaurant!

variety and food

my all time favorite is the agedashi tofu....I always order it along with whatever the bento box lunch special is! finish your meal off with green tea ice cream, it is delicious!! also, the pickled bean sprouts served along with miso soup is the perfect taste bud cleanser! Not only is the food delicious, but it is refreshing and very fulfilling!

Just like being in Tokyo

After spending two years living in Tokyo, my family and I were anxious to find an authentic Japanese restaurant here in Washington. We happened across Hakata and it quickly became a family favorite. The menu has a variety of items including sushi, sashimi, chicken, pork, seafood, soups, etc. When we go, we always try to get something new and we've never been disappointed. Everything is wonderful!! The restaurant is very clean and the staff very welcoming and attentive. Anytime we're feeling a bit nostalgic for Japan, we head to Hakata. It's not often you find a restaurant that you can honestly say is authentic, but Hakata is. When we go there, it's just like being in one of the little restaurants we loved in Tokyo. I recommend Hakata without hesitation!

Straight from Japan

Sugi is the best sushi chef I have ever come across. His wife still frequents Japan on a regular basis and the service there is outstanding. If you've gone there once and sat at the sushi bar you will always be remembered. Sugi has excellent instincts on making anything you please and then making more that he would recommend! Best sushi ever, if it wasn't such a drive I would make it the ONLY sushi I would eat
