My daughter has attended Colquitt Christian Academy since 3rd grade. I am so glad that she was able to get a Christian education! The tuition is low and the church board is willing to help anyone that needs help to make it possible for their children to attend. Kids get a chance to get a real education and not have to worry about constantly testing.

A parent Posted Jun 18, 2014

Colquitt Christian Academy has been a huge blessing to our family, both spiritually and academically. My daughter loves Jesus and wants to follow his plan for her life. She is very knowledgeable about the bible and is able to apply it to her daily living. She was recently baptized and we are happy with the choices she continues to make as she grows in Christ. Academically, my daughter has maintained straight A's from 1st-7th. I had her tested for magnet in the second grade and she was accepted for her third grade year. As a public school teacher, I wanted to see if she could score well and thanks to CCA she did! However, we kept her at CCA because academics were on target and we wanted the spiritual component that you just can't get in public school. And, now, we are super excited about the upcoming 2014-15 school year! My daughter had Mrs. Theresa Parker as a teacher in the first and second grade, and now she will have her again in 8th grade. And to add to the excitement, her little brother will be enrolling for kindergarten. Thank you CCA for being such a positive influence in the life of my daughter. I thank the Lord daily for this church school.

Do not, I repeat... DO NOT put...

Do not, I repeat... DO NOT put your child in this Daycare/Preschool. If you are a parent that's highly concerned about the well- being of your child please take pre- cautions when selecting the right child care facility. From experience, I must say Colquitt Christian Academy is NOT the facility for you. The Director ( Ms. Cage) will appear as sweet as GOLD upon signup, but when a problem arises with your child she's clueless and shows NO sense of concern. Also, the learning curriculum is so off balance and unorganized - the child will work on the letter A one week, B the next, then back to A. They consistently back track when they should be moving forward. There's also a ton of free play which leads to a limited learning experience. When its all said and done, you have the opportunity to choose the best facility for your child, but always remember - you won't know how great any child care facility is until you experience it. Today, I'm giving you my story of experience and hope that you take it as WORTH and look else where. Colquitt Christian Academy is not the place for you.

Sincerely,

The Awesome Parent

This is the first daycare my son attended and was suppose to be the only one he attended considering we did not want him to have to go through many changes.. The daycare was awesome.. awesome teachers, staff, directors until the director resigned and a new director was hired.. The new director was aweful to us! She is not friendly in anyway to the children or the parents. When going in to talk to her about any problem that you have she treats you like you are a child and have no clue. I felt so uncomfortable when I would try to speak to her about a problem we were having. Just because I am a young parent does not mean you have the right to treat me like im just a child, i am a parent and i should be treated with respect. I went in several times to speak with her about issues and she would laugh and roll her eyes while I was sitting right there. she made changes that were completely preventable that made the child, parent, and teacher uncomfortable and when the teacher and parent spoke with her about these changes she did not consider there feeling at all.. this led to the teacher quiting and the parent pulling not one but two children out of the daycare and then her best friend pulled her child out also. Before when Theresa was the director she would constantly help out in the class rooms. You could never catch her in the office because she was always in a room helping teachers with the children. You could never catch the new director in a classroom. She was constantly in the office on her CELL phone. The day that I went in to tell her that my son and nephew would no longer be attending this daycare she laughed and said ok.. She did not give any kind of emotion and ask why or anything. She is not cut out to be a director of a daycare. She has no people skills, no communication skills, and NO skills on how to run a daycare at all. She treated my 1 yr old nephew like he was a juvenile delinquent because he was going through a biting stage. All children go through these kind of stages. She threatened to kick him out and was not friendly about it and did not try to work with us about the problem. Bottom line... like the other comment said, RUN AWAY from this daycare!! Pulling my child out of this daycare was the best thing I could have ever done. It has relieved so much stress that my sister and I had on a daily basis from worrying about what was going on with our children during the day and worry when my nephew would be kicked out for going through a toddler stage. I think you should check all of your options before putting your child in this center. Thanks and I hope this helps.

This daycare is great! The workers are very friendly, as well as the director. They care so much about the children. Everything is very organized and fair. Its becoming a more christian atmosphere everyday. I definitely would recommend this daycare to anyone.

Awesome School,Director and Staff!!!

My Child just recently started the preschool program there and by it being so many new teachers we were kind of nervous about it . It's going great and my husband and I are so amazed at how much she has learned in such little time!! I always feel so welcomed whenever I walk in the doors. The director and staff are so helpful and friendly and seem to really care about the children and really have the love of christ!!! Please Go and see for yourself!! Awesome proud parents:)

colquitt christian academy used to be one of the best daycares in shreveport and now it has gone downhill since getting a new director. She DOES NOT care about the children and the people that she has hired they do not care either. I hate to see such a good place turn out so bad! I would rather let a stranger watch my child than this daycare!

If there was a lower rating i ...

If there was a lower rating i would give it! The director and the board members of this "daycare" are horrible! my child has a nut allergy and the director gave him HONEY NUT CHEERIOS!!! it was on a friday he got the snack and the only way we found out about it was a teacher spoke up about about what happened! Neither my husband nor i were contacted in any way. i made her have a "meeting" with me and she then wanted to know how my child was doing on the following tuesday at noon when i called, uh hello???? after this happened state came in and now cps has come in. 3 teachers have unjustly been fired and the board doesnt give a damn! take your child(ren) and run faaaaaaaaaaaarrrr way from here!

quality preschool

I have worked at other preschools and this is by far one of the best I have seen. The facility is clean and organized. The staff work well together to provide quality care for the children there. I recommend this preschool if you are looking for a place to work or a preschool for your child.
